- I rode a minibus from the Villa Beach area of southern St. Vincent Island into Kingstown, the capital of the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. A friendly local man I sat next to in the van provided me some good information and walked me along Bay Street to the Magikleen dry cleaners and laundry service.
Very proud of that guy, he was so helpful that's the way to go your country will grow with people like you. Hope the rest follow your foot steps.
Bless the big man who help him out. That's how we do it.
that's so true :D Vincy people.. amazingly nice! :)
I too think it was nice of Jeffrey to follow him to the laundromat. Jeffrey would make a good tour guide.
One thing, Caribbean natives are very friendly and informative.
Great example of Vincentian warmth and hospitality! You repped us well baby!! #784
Typical American at 9:38. Bad attitudes even in the middle of paradise like the Caribbean. The way he told the ladies to excuse him at 9:38. Very rude!
Mitchell Sam I see nothing wrong wid the way he said it..
Well Andre I agree with you. I apologize. I just thought he could have been a bit friendlier and sweeter. But we all can't be the same. My words were kinda too harsh for that situation. My apologies :-)
He doesn't even kno how much that young man's looking out for him....his change from the bus str8 to leading him in the ghetto safe

Thanks for sharing this video. It's great to see Saint Vincent from a visitor's perspective. Good job Jeffery!
Ha.. I knew you was going to show him Vj's! My mouth waterin' now....
We Love St. Vincent
We have been twice and booked again for 2021. This is such a typical Vincy experience, so welcoming, so friendly so helpful.
You were lucky with the empty dollar bus. we did Kingstown to Chateaubelair, about an hour. The bus was full all the way. By full, I mean various people sitting on my lap, others standing.
The amazing part was we wanted to go beyond Chateaubelair, but the buses stop there. The bus driver phoned ahead to a friend who drove us the last few miles.
The nurse is Jeffrey he taught me.big up
So sweet of him
Watching from Barbados🇧🇧
I am from St. Lucia, and visited SVG for cricket over 20 years ago...was pretty young and naive at the time and ran out of money pretty quickly. A family from Calder took me in for a few days and cared for all my needs. We lost touch and I have desperately searched for them. The matriarch of the house was a teacher called Bing, he drove a Mitsubishi bus at the time with his young bus conductor called Mooshay. If anyone knows of him, please respond. Thank you.
I have recently returned from the UK, having spent time in St. Vincent and The Grendines.
Please feel free to take a look at some of the videos I have uploaded.
We actually ate at The French Verandah twice (at the very start of your video)!!! I have some footage of this.
The Dollar Bus is quite the experience.
I have some footage of Bequia, taken from an open air taxi and some footage that I took on the mainland from a car.
We only used a dollar bus a couple of times.
I miss this place so very much!!!

You didn't greet the gentleman. I did the same in Barbados while asking for directions to three fellows. They stared at me and then I recognized that I forgot my manners. Greeting is so second nature.
We laughed about it. When I came back to the US I greeted everyone I saw. They looked at me suspiciously. It took a week and I was back to the concrete jungle mode of ignoring strangers again.
lol
Yeah i feel you on that, when i can to the US and my Greeting was say good Morning, they look at me very suspiciously ...I stop
facts spoken in your post.
Am from the islands and manners is strict learnt from small
I see what you're saying.i said that to myself when he approached Jeffery I didn't hear any greeting,I guess like you said it's what happens in the concrete jungle

How much are taxi fares? How is sleeping on the beach? Crime much? Safe to walk around? I want to see the islands and I want to go with only a backpack etc
I didn't see anyone camping on the beach
@@lewnwdc Hmmm....I am intending to, don't really see why one would not take advantage of the warm air and palm trees and beach noises.
@@lewnwdc Ty for your answer anyways
@@coolboy5428 St. Vincent Island is the population center but doesn't have nice beaches. You'll find those south in the Grenandines.
lewnwdc 100% untrue. I’m from the mainland so idk what you’re talking about.

Caribbean Girl I just came back from there it was great!
Same I was born there and went back December last year and now I'm back in england but I'm going back maybe in 2 years again
This is and old video
you could've left the change with the bus conductor. el cheapo
the bus conductor over charged him anyways so he didn't deserve to be given an additional tip for that slight act of dishonesty
Why? Because he is a tourist? Locals do not "leave the change" with the bus conductor so why should he? People assume that tourists have extra money to throw away but a lot of times people save up to get money to travel and treat themselves; even if they have a lot, it is theirs to do as they please! That music was too loud too and there was nothing special about the service. smh
@@BradleyWelshTV The conductor actually didn't overcharge him. He entered the bus from Villa and went to Kingstown and got back $8 change (as he clearly stated). The fare is $2, so no, there wasn't any act of dishonesty.
@@spongiimaltluhva101 the fella in the white shirt told him that the fare should be $1.50 which i'm assuming was what he paid himself for his fare and what he's accustomed paying as a local who uses the same route on a regular basis therefore there was a O.50cents difference between what the local and what the tourist paid, if you went to a foreign country and found that you were charged more for something for the fact that you're a tourist then how would you feel?
BradleyWelshTV your reading into it way too much, it had nothing to do with him being a tourist... In this case where he caught the van is the last bus stop just before where the fare is 'supposed' to change from $1.50 to $2 (the points at where van fare is actually supposed to be changed isn't something set into law, it's determined by the van operators & the public in a sense) so in other words catching a van at this bus stop or bus stops like it, it's up to the conductor if he wants to charge the $1.50 or $2 which is why locals usually make sure to have exact change to pay..... Not sure if the point I'm trying to explain is clear but it had nothing to do with over charging or being a tourist
The buses are a joke!! Totally claustrophobic and inadequate for public transport. Not to mention the aggressive driving as they hustle from A to B.
That ´s not true, vans in st vincent are great
That's ok, when you're in Rome you do as the Romans do. Carry on!
🤣🤣🤣 well buy yo owna ride next time boss
