you know what I like about your review? You don't compare it with other tablets and talk about whats missing in this. You talk only about the good and bad things about the tablet in hand and I appreciate that.
@11uxie11 They have very different features as far as tablets go. We have both in-depth written reviews on MobileTechReview and video reviews here on both tablets. Be sure to check them out. Hopeful the info we provided in these can help you decide.
Watching this on the Nokia t20 tablet which reminded me of the doom tablet in a nostalgic say. It's crazy how far we've come in terms of tech. The t20 is on android 12 with 4 gb ram and 64 b internal wih expandable micro sd slot with lte. She said 32 gbs was way too much and just te system takes up 18 gbs thee days. Amazing and I've always loved your reviews. I will remember with what anticipation I had watched this reiw back the n.
Hello, Lisa, I got a couple of questions for you. 1.) Can I use a keyboard and mouse with one of those? 2.) How do you buy all of that technology? You have so much! Where do you possibly get that kind of cash?
Just got my Xoom yesterday. I was contemplating for a week on whether i should get it, or the iPad. Then someone summed it up for me. They said 'If you care about looks, go for the iPad. If you care about less restriction, and more power, go for the Xoom'.
When will you do a Motorola Xoom 2 review? I've seen other reviews & it seems the Xoom 2 us an improvement on the first one. It would be helpful to have a review by Mobile Tech because I find they are the most in depth & professional.
thanks for this nice review, but one request. can you tone down the effects, when changing between cuts, since sometimes i'm not sure if its and android effect, or you just cut two scenes together and used some "weird" transition effect.
@davva360 You dont have to ship it anywhere for 4G. There is a slot at the top where the card for 4G can be inserted and it will activate 4G. just take it to the verizon store when 4g is out and you want to upgrade. Simpel as that. This is not an issue. Also it has micro sd card. Please watch review carefully.
Lisa, The ultimate question. in your pure opinion would you purchase this product over the IPAD 2 assuming that the IPAD 2 isn't going to have as good as specs and not a significant upgrade is the IOS. I am either going to buy the IPAD 2 or the Xoom w/o 3g. My biggest concern with the Xoom is the lack of apps and the possible bugs in the Honeycome
@magicsmac The point of her unbiased review was to provide the viewer with an informative overview of the product so the consumer can make their own personal decision. I think she did that quite well. In "my" opinion the Xoom is much better than the iPad in terms of the OS design and browsing experience, but of course, it will lack in the apps department. It is impossible to compare it to the iPad 2 since it is not even out yet.
@SyphonFilterr If you read the tech blogs Verizon and Motorola have confirmed that the current models are not 4G ready. To enable 4G you have to return the tablet to Motorola (who are in fairness paying all shipping costs) and they will upgrade the device for you. Expected turnaround is 6 business days. This has been all over Engadget, BGR and the other tech sites for the last few days. Yes the SIM slot is there but only works for 3G until you return for the upgrade. Thanks.
Hey lisa. im a very big fan of yours and i would really loke to know something or everything about the expensive Vertu Constellation and all about those expensive phones, im looking forward for that review. Thanks. Yilver N Cortes
Wow, amazing review. I was looking to see what was good or bad about this tablet and got exactly what I needed, thank you so much. Now I definitely want it, that much is for sure. And that bluetooth keyboard is awesome, can't wait to get that too.
This is a very nice device but the fact that it was somewhat rushed to market with several issues I would not recommend purchasing until the issues are fixed. WHat issues? No 4G without shipping it back to Motorola in approx 90 days, no SD card reader until a software update are the two main ones. Hopefully they will start to ship with all this working soon.
@TheJasperkitty Im not sure if i agree with you. The future is about portability and net access on the go with (3G/4G), these tablets are the first step in that direction which will eventually end up with fully touch optimized laptops and PC monitors. Android tabs are having a slow start but it was the same with their phones. Just look at all the manufacturers rushing their tablets to the market now (toshiba, lenovo, LG etc.). There must be a reason for that.
I personally wouldn't recommend anyone doing serious gaming on a tablet but in terms of specs The Transformer prime with tegra 3 and the new iPad will be the best around at the moment.
@SyphonFilterr TO correct my comment the sim card is not used for 3G, the slot is there so you can access the SD card which is in the same place but read the tech blogs. 4G does not work on this device without a physical upgrade by Motorola. When all the issues are fixed, including some software glitches (CNET and Engadget) this will be a great alternative to the ipad. I just would not buy until I see that Motorola follow through because this is not a cheap device.
I need help choosing a tablet.. Its either the Toshiba thrive, asus transformer prime or the Motorola xoom..I don't like the transformer cause it has no usb hardware on the sides, but I do like it because of its ips display..I like the Toshiba also and the Motorola, im stuck and im new to all of this and I don't know what to get, help?! Which one of them are superior in your opinion?
@TheJasperkitty OK, i see what your getting at but it all comes down to defining what a tablet PC is. We could just asses that the ipad and the standard it has set doesnt have a whole lot to do with a term ''PC'' as we know it. That said, a andoid tab like the transformer makes the gap between a regular laptop and a tablet pretty narrow and there is no reason to say it wont get even closer between the 2 as tablets evolve. So yea, tablets are not PCs but that doesnt mean they are not the future.
@sigthor1945 We've done reviews of the XYBoard 10.1 and 8.2 on Verizon which are the Xoom 2 with 3G. The Xoom 2 in the US only has WiFi but no 3G. Other than that they are the same. Search our reviews on our channel page.
@LubomirDohnal Probably a result of software being better optimized for the ipad as Apple build the hardware and make the software. I think the Honeycomb Android OS looks very promising though and it is great to finally have a serious ipad alternative hit the market. Of course next week ipad 2 will be announced so it will be interesting to see what Apple have up their sleeve.
@TheJasperkitty Care to explain your conslusion? I believe ipad buyers are largely iphone owners so in the same sense, android phone owners will be interested in android tablets. How can you not see a market there?
@DigitalDestined In term of spec, Xoom beats iPad in almost every category. I'm talking twice the speed, 4 times the memory, better browser, customization, better Google map w/ voice navigation, camera, mini usb, HDMI video output, upgradable to 4G etc.
Oh and sorry about the second comment in a row, 3.) Does it have a USB port built-in? (Again, sorry for making 2 comments in a row, but I forgot what the third question was.)
I can't describe how much I wanted to get an ASUS Transformer Prime...it just can't be found anywhere so I gave up the search and settled for this. I hope it will satiate me.
@zorkor i deffinately like this tablet but idk in my opinion the interface could have been done different idk it just seems very weird and not that attractive
I love how her reviews are so unbiased. She does a great job, and clearly just wants the reviews to be informative
Time flies by so fast OMG. We had so many great times.
you know what I like about your review? You don't compare it with other tablets and talk about whats missing in this. You talk only about the good and bad things about the tablet in hand and I appreciate that.
@Tryit22 Thank you! Glad you enjoy it! Share our videos and channel with friends and family.
Thanks! Please share our reviews with others. :)
This is the best comprehensive teck review I have ever seen.
@frogparfait29 Yes, most all of these mobile Office apps can save files to the standard desktop Office formats.
This is by far the best reviewer online. Lisa you rock and you know who to review things very well. Great review once again.
@BigCatsWildlife Yes, it streams Ustream smoothly.
Wow! Best Xoom review out there!!! Unbiased, smooth and soothing voice, and very detailed. Excellent stuff.
@11uxie11 They have very different features as far as tablets go. We have both in-depth written reviews on MobileTechReview and video reviews here on both tablets. Be sure to check them out. Hopeful the info we provided in these can help you decide.
@imDan11l We've been using the Motorola case for the Xoom, it doesn't affect the WiFi connection.
@Tayloreletronic Sure thing! Please let us know how you like it, and don't forget to share our reviews with friends. Thanks! :)
I just bought this tablet, the tablet I had earlier was newer than the Xoom but seriously, the Xoom looks amazing and I'm so glad I got the Xoom!
best reviewer.....for years ive been reading and watching your reviews
I just wanted to say, Lisa that your reviews are awesome. Been waiting on your review forth xoom, another great one!

I love you guys. Seriously, some of the best complete reviews out there.
@AbsolutZeroGI1 They are both on par for power users.
Great review Lisa! Will you be doing a review to compare the Xoom against the Ipad?
@Condawgify Yes, check out the newer videos on our channel. Motorola has released Droid XYBoard 10.1 and 8.2. We have reviews of both.
That was by far the review I've seen...now I just have to hit the subscribe button so I will now be watching all of your reviews. =)

For gaming, there are a lot more titles for the iPad than for Android tablets.
An excellent in-depth review, I had my own delivered today.
Great review, but I have to ask...what's the point of uploading to 1080p if it's only 480p quality?
By far your best look/review of a product

@MCARTHURIAM 1) No. 2) Yes.
Its cool watching this more than a year later
Hey lisa. im a very big fan of yours and i would really loke to know something or everything about the expensive Vertu Constellation and all about those expensive phones, im looking forward for that review.

This is a great review. You touched on the main points that a typical consumer would focus on. The device looks like a good one.
Wow, amazing review. I was looking to see what was good or bad about this tablet and got exactly what I needed, thank you so much. Now I definitely want it, that much is for sure. And that bluetooth keyboard is awesome, can't wait to get that too.
wow! 8 years ago, i really wanted this tablet! But I haven't got the chance to get one.
The xoom looks good but i'm gonna wait for some of the other tablets to come out later in the year before I get one.
You make the best reviews ever!

Very great review, you are soooooo awesome with the reviews. Can't wait to get mine.
@Condawgify Congrats! Thanks!
do a review with the update that enables the micro sd card

Just a question but would it be easier to point the camera down and put your devices on a table?
What tablet would you recommend for a person who likes gaming.
I personally wouldn't recommend anyone doing serious gaming on a tablet but in terms of specs The Transformer prime with tegra 3 and the new iPad will be the best around at the moment.
lisa, what would you suggest jetstream or xoom?
Honeycomb is gorgeous, and incredible smooth!

i cannot help saying that ipad seems a bit smoother in terms of changing transitions or browsing the web. How's that?
Great review as always, Lisa.
@205up90down Thanks! :) Please share our reviews. :)

In the phone world which brand of phone would be better between samsung and motorola?

Is this better than the ipad? I'm just wondering!
Lisa, that was an excellent review. Thank you!!
@TheJasperkitty Care to explain your conslusion? I believe ipad buyers are largely iphone owners so in the same sense, android phone owners will be interested in android tablets. How can you not see a market there?
I love how your videos can be used as time capsules for human technology lol
