Malik is also the leader of 19 guardian angels of Hell, called az-Zabaniyyah. “They (angels) above it are nineteen. We made only the angels as guardians of the Fire, and we made their number a temptation for the unbelievers ”(Sura al-Muddassir, verses 30-31). After the Day of Judgment, when the deeds of all the righteous and sinners will be evaluated, the latter will be sent to hell, the keys to which are kept by Malik.
