    Something about listening to you explain this stuff, Mitch. You just make it so approachable, conversational, and non-intimidating. You are definitely my go-to when I need to learn a new api.

    Well, Mitch, it's a pretty cool animation. Newborn android devs are not aware of how complex and expensive was to create similar animations a few years ago. Jetpack compose is some great stuff and definitely the next step in everyday android development.

    One thing I was trying to do that feels so tricky in compose is add a bottom sheet that you can drag down to close. The Scaffold version of it expands to the entire screen which is not what I was looking for, I want it to pull up to like 30% of the screen only. Making that myself has proved to be so hard, there's like no info online about it so as far as I've found.

    • @codingwithmitch

      Haven't tried myself yet

      @@codingwithmitch ModalBottomSheetLayout seemed to be the solution for me, I fixed it now. So tricky to find all the available APIs right now 🤷‍♂️ And there's no way I could pull this off myself. There's much to learn until that's possible.

    Great vid as always Mitch , just wondering how do we animate this just once and it not be repeatable (just for the position transition not the engine)

    If anyone is interested in seeing the code that stops, then starts the rocket at the last position it stopped - then take a look below.

    But one doubts:
    () what is contentDescription?

    • @codingwithmitch
      @codingwithmitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a string describing the image

      @@cw3dv IIRC it's specifically being used for accessibility purposes, for people with vision impairment. If the right option is enabled in the accessibility settings, the device will say that string out loud to describe the image to the user.

    Hey Mitch, why don't you make Udemy courses or something similar, you would make real money. You know, a Beginner course and maybe an Advance course.

    • @codingwithmitch
      @codingwithmitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer to publish on my website so the criminals at Udemy don't get a cut

      @@codingwithmitch Ahaha, I get it. However if we look at consumer behavior, people are looking at certain sites for courses, it will be much more profitable for you. Just like real estate websites, they get commissions without doing anything, but people are checking their sites to buy houses. And people like you are doing holy favor to broke students like me, they earn much less than they deserve.
