I have to say the reaction of you two are by far my favorite. Printing Mayday’s lyrics and actually reading them before watching their MV is such the best way to enjoy their music cause their lyrics are what make them famous in the Chinese world. I would love to recommend two MVs from them: Almost Famous, Ashin won Best Lyricist for this song, and Dokodemo Door. These two songs are about their own story, about how they started from an underground band to the best band of Taiwan. I hope you like it and don’t stop making those reactions cause you two are really great.

I'm glad that you guys love Mayday and because they have been debuted for so long that there is a saying in Taiwan among the fans, and that is "we are glad to have Mayday in our childhood". Every song that Mayday has made is written by Ashin and the melodies are usually done by Monster or Stone and as the band grew, their songs grew as well. Throughout the years you can tell from their songs that a group of 5 young boys grew up to be 5 mature men as they write more and more about love, friendship, life, and etc. Ashin also writes songs for other singers in Taiwan, which shows how talent he is as a lyricist. Their MVs can be very emotional, but they also like to put "Easter eggs" in their MVs. For example, in the "Cheers" MV, there is a scene where they were deciding on their band names, while one of them being "Mayday", they always picked "So Band" in a lot of their MVs. The reason is because "So Band" was actually the original name that they wanted to go with, but due to similar sounding as "toilet" in Taiwanese, they decided to go with Mayday, which is a username that Masa uses when they were still in college or something. I like your reactions so much! Mayday has written some long and very literary lyrics that can be hard to translate, but the English translation you read here is pretty accurate. They always include stories in their lyrics, music videos and also concerts. Their latest tour (the "Mayday life tour" banner in this video) told a superhero universe story for example. I’d say it’s a pretty accurate translation, only it still lacks the poetic elements of the original version, but I guess that’s usually the case of translating tho😂

I like your reactions so much! Mayday has written some long and very literary lyrics that can be hard to translate, but the English translation you read here is pretty accurate. They always include stories in their lyrics, music videos and also concerts. Their latest tour (the "Mayday life tour" banner in this video) told a superhero universe story for example.
Besides, I recommend another storytelling music video of theirs called "Eternal Summer", if you wouldn't mind it contains some violent scenes.
