Unless I’m missing something I can’t see the point of cutting out an ‘L’ shaped piece of wood. Just cut out a right triangle from a corner of plywood and save all the messing about with a jigsaw.

looking for ideas on TH-cam and watching tons on videos to build a sharpening jig for myself. with single leg on the knife fixer how can you keep the angle correct? I will be doing something to fix the knife horizontaly ( like fixing it on a toy car) and build a adjustable stone holder which you can change the angle. moving the car forward and backwards on the stone will sharpen the knife.

There really is no such thing as a "leftie." Right-handed people are right-handed, but left-handed are sort of "whatever-handed." There's been a lot of research on it that can describe the patterns of preference, but basically I can give you an analogy. You're thinking of it like a gay vs. straight thing, which makes sense. Lefties are in the minority at about the same percentage, religious people tried to beat it out of them, etc. But with handedness it's more like you're either straight or bi. FYI: I'm straight, but I'm left-handed. I write and use a fork/spoon with my left hand, but do lots with my right: Play guitar, throw a ball, swing a bat, etc. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense why one hand and not the other: I shoot pistols and use a drill with my left even though I shoot a rifle with use a screwdriver with my right. Sometimes I can switch up easily, sometimes not. Every leftie is different, but every rightie is just plain right-handed.

You want a ax sharp but still meaty.
