The shows you guys get are just exceptional! The ones here in the UK are so much smaller and have so much less in the way of variety/goodies! Jealousy is real! Also I'd love to meet you one day! I still go to your vids for tarantula species I'm not familiar with or send people your way if I don't know!
Oh wild, didn't know you attended! I had a booth with my girlfriend. If you saw the table with the leeches, that was us! My girlfriend picked up a tarantula from Spider Shoppe, I don't remember the species but he gave her an excellent deal on it and she's thrilled!
We just moved near The Spider Shoppe and love the store! Great people that know their stuff! They have been so helpful and kind in rebuilding my supplies and menagerie after we had a devastating housefire. Thanks for highlighting this wonderful store and have a great time abroad. Looking forward to seeing the videos!
I would have said no anyway but I AM FRANKLY SHOCKED no one asked tarantula kat to join the Peru trip. It’s almost like all these old men don’t wanna be trapped in the middle of nowhere with a tiny woman complaining the whole time 😤 weak!
Great video. 👍🏻 If you're ever in Pittsburgh again, I work with USARK and started doing the Pittsburgh Show & Sale held on the 1st Sunday of each month. It's a smaller show and venue. But it's better vetted. Fewer flippers, and hardly any wild caught animals, aside from maybe some venomous. And the owners are 110% in support of USARK (which is more than what can be said for the Pittsburgh Mega Show owner).
thats funny because ive heard the exact opposite, that the mega reptile show has fewer flippers and is more legit than the show and sale - ive been to both and definitely prefer this one, for one, it isn't a giant fire hazard with no way to get out versus the overcrowded Show * Sale.
Hey man. Im from philippines. I only have 3 slings…. for now 😅 just wanted to say how your videos helped me a lot on starting this hobby and how i enjoyed watching your content. Very informative every second and straight to the point. Not boring as well. I watched from 0s to last second. Keep it up and looking forward for some great content on your trip to Peru. Have a safe flight 🎉
2 cool people in the T trade. I drove 2 hours last weekend to Tyler’s shop to pick up some Arizona blonds!! Have fun in Peru and take some cool pics and videos. Btw Richard your them song is stuck in my head did you right it!!
I know you are a tarantula guy but you can’t go to a Pittsburgh reptile show without talking to Brad McCarthy , he’s the best and an amazing reptile breeder
Hey Tarantula Collective, I was wondering if you could answer a question for me? I have a Brachypelma Emilia, and I am trying to get it setup, do you think Kinetic Sand would be a good substrate with Biodude substrate?
I'm not sure why you'd want to use kinetic sand in an enclosure. If it is homemade, then it has cornstarch or flour and oil. That shouldn't hurt the tarantula, but I would think the flour or cornstarch would mold and attract mites and flies that you dont want. If it is store bought then it is most likely sand with a little silicone added. 100% silicone is safe and what they use in aquariums and to attach backgrounds to enclosures and stuff like that. But there are many different types of silicone and I would be worried they were using a silicone with added chemicals that might possibly hurt the tarantula. If you just need a cheap sand, basic play sand or sand box sand you buy at the hardware store will work perfectly fine.
@tarantulacollective thank you for the answer, it's the kinetic sand you'll find in the toy isle of walmart. I kinda figured it could work like clay and the tarantula could make a strong burrow with it.
You did him dirty at 1:41 lolol This is the first video I’ve caught in a while so it was cool to see your studio at the end. I love to see you as a leading content creator in the reptile/arachnid space. Keep it up! P.s. @tarantulacollective you did a cameo for my wife last year! She showed it to me for my birthday. That was really awesome thank you so much
