Including Mariah, although it’s apples & oranges. NO ONE writes inspiration songs like Mariah. My fav is “Through the Rain.” But Whitney’s the better singer.
It was almost annoying how beautiful she was. Like not only did she have the greatest voice to be produced from a human being but the incredible beauty to back it up ughhhhhh ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Unless there was a drastic change in a decade, I question your description of radio in the 80s. I grew up in the 60s and 70s and even then the "white" airwaves were full of The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, The Supremes / Diana Ross, Sly & The Family Stone, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The O'Jays, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Earth, Wind & Fire, Commodores, and lots more. Obviously, Black radio has always played more Black artists but saying, "Whitney was one of the only black artist being played on white radio" in the 80s ignores some of the above singers along with artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, Tina Turner, James Ingram, Anita Baker, New Edition, Luther Vandross, Billy Ocean, The Pointer Sisters, Lionel Ritchie, The Gap Band, Rick James, Janet Jackson, etc. You may be thinking of MTV which originally aired pretty much no videos of Black performers in the early 80s.
Damn, this is how Whitney should be today...Beeeautiful, clean & sober, happily reminiscing about her amazing career and maybe showing up here and there giving us a song or two, enjoying life on her terms. Oh how I wish we could rewrite the script of her life. We love you Whitney.
Whitney Houston is the woman that made us happy with her voice and her music even though she paid the terrible price of fame. Personal issues set aside. Her voice mixed with display of sincere emotions and stage presence that matches no one.
Orlando Parker Jr totally agree with your comment there is a massive void in music since the passing of The Greatest Voice of all.no one can come close or be the next Whitney.
What I dont like is that people won't give her credit or look at all she accomplished but they rather focus on the negative. She had an amazing career and life that had great moments that out number the bad things. We ALL have had not so good moments that's life but remember her for her greatness!
That’s her family’s doing. The documentary that came out a few years ago almost had me believing the narrative they were trying to sell. That is until I remembered the spirit she had and maintained throughout her career despite her battles. It’s truly a shame that she isn’t here to defend herself...
She definitly knew her talent from the start, but to think she doubted wether her ballads and real singing was gonna want to be heard by people...yes they did! I honestly think a hundred years from now she will be more popular than when she was alive. As much as she was celebrated she was absolute perfection, people are still sleeping on her talent and beauty today.
Loving the princess, Whitney Houston. Her voice is lovely. Listening to her music in 2019 everyday. Whitney Houston is the greatest singer of our generation.
😢😢😢😢😢 just listening to her is bringing tears! Such a beautiful voice! Gone too soon! We miss you and love you. She has made such an impact on American music. Timeless. People play her songs at graduations and events. But more importantly, upcoming artist use her songs when they audition. She has sat the bar for so many.Gone but never forgotten!
dear lord that performance of home. she was so gifted. if she had sang i will always love you at that time it would have been almost supernatural. her voice was just incredible.
Whitney Houston is the one and only incredible and incomparable HEAVEN VOICE'S of all time . there will never be another ARTIST like her never again . RIP NIPPY ♥️
To me this is so hurtful how our poor Whitney was taken out , May the Lord comfort her and her daughter May the sun always shine on their faces and rest in paradise, May the leaches endure the same hardships my Whitney endured , she worked to the bone to take of them the whole lot made her sick,I love you Whitney you sis well your short time on earth you will never be forgotten .
I miss her so much her grace ,that voice ,the down to earth diva that she was she aged beautifully and I wish she was still with us to enjoy her career and help the younger girls learn how to do it
Whitney had a beautiful voice !! Her control, tone , & range separates her from other singers!! Some people are musical artist, The beautiful Whitney was a SINGER!!🎤🎵🎶 My favorite Whitney song is “You Give Good Love”!!❤️❤️
They called her the voice for a reason. That’s all that needs to be said well, and that she was beautiful, humble and graceful and yes, everybody has turbulence in their life but that was her business. Period.
Clive spoke a lot about how they needed the "right songs" and the "right production". They made many classic hits together, so I won't say he should have handled it differently. I think it would have been interesting if he had allowed her to take a few more musical risks. Everything was very clean and polished on record, but her live performances were completely soul stirring. It would have been nice if she had 1 album during her prime where she could just let loose vocally with some intricate instrumentation.
@@dynamict4722hahaha I'M EVERY WOMAN brought house down 💥🙌🏿 vocally she really let lose there and in Her club banga SO EMOTIONAL this very song OMG 😭🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿👑❤️
She really do her part in this world her works ethics is profound. Thank you to this lady who give so much joy and inspiration to many.her contribution to music will live forever. Whitney it the standard period.
The music industry needs to formulate a plan to care and nurture this type of talent throughout the lifecycle of the artist not to just focus on the good times when money is to be made. They all need support at different stages in their careers . A single promoter like Clive cannot do it ,. However , a fund and support network is needed to lift them to greatness again and not abandon them to suffer depression, anxiety and despair causing them to leave us forever. ❤❤❤
this was Whitney clean, sober and stress free. she should of took her time and they never should of forced a tour on her, anyone going on tour with a bad habit that's finally under control should have had time. she never got a chance to slip up and pick herself back up. my girl. well you're in a better place and I know your with the Lord. it's an ugly world.
Every Artists have their own talent. Whitney however was sent here to shine above the Stars. Her song presentations are extremely versatile and highlight her mega singing ability. Her Chrisma is out of this world and her stage presence is unbelievable.
Sorry, I just don't see Bey as this generation's "Whitney". Not to take anything away from Bey, I just consider her closer to the female MJ than to Whit. In terms of the whole package, I don't think we have anything close to Whit nowadays. Not even close...
Beyonce can obviously sing but she's no Whitney. Plus Whitney loved Jesus and unless a person is in denial you know Beyonce reps the devil every chance she gets
She is so sorely missed in this music industry. Nobody had her radiance and shining grace, her elegance and Leonine pride! We need another Leonine woman to conquer her spot or at least try to do it!
Her voice was kind of robotic because she used to get up there and sing with little to no effort. Very unique. She was always confident too. Didn't We Almost Have it All is my favorite song from her. She sang a hole through that microphone.
I still miss Whitney still everyday You have been such a huge part of my life and always will be May you and your daughter Chrissy RIP together forever
Her beauty was disarming. Her voice was flawless. Her speech humble.
No other female voice can match Whitney Houston's voice. She was a one of a kind. Truly missed.
Lol, no other singer period. Including men. She outsang Pavarotti on the same stage with literally one note🙌🏻

Whitney Houston... I miss you.
She looked so beautiful in this interview, so nice to see her looking so well. She's fantastic, and that voice can't be denied.
She looked horrible and tired in this interview, and her speech was off like she was drunk or on drugs, or as if wearing dentures.
