Listening to rancid always makes me have a heartfelt joy for the life (the good and the bad times) that i got to live growing up, and Rancid was one of the main bands that saw me through it all! Bitchin'
since the first st record to this record, rancid has proven to be masters of any style. every record is different. all epic. especially up against a ton of billboard stuff. branden on drums is a force. brett is awesome and the played with him for many years. branden was/is obviously a fan and plays the old and new songs without skipping a beat. his crashes are tough & he & matt are right in the pocket. thanks for posting this. so good. cheers!! I see alot of disrespect for Branden..in a way that fans doesn't recognize him as a "permanent" drummer of Rancid. And your comment really got my blood to boil.. Branden Steineckert is a solid, hard-hitting, technical and a humble drummer, always been a fan of him , I am also a drummer and his passion for Rancid can be heard on this new album.. I'm a fan of Bret Reed too for his simplistic approach which is really suited to Rancid's music...But Branded added the icing on the cake.. So yeah, thats it. Rancid for life!
Definitely not one of their best albums, maybe I need to listen to it for a while and then see how I feel. I think their last album was better, and it sounded great almost immediately. Still sounds like a typical Rancid record though, still sounds good!
The trouble with Honor... is that every song seems to follow the same chorus and verse structures. They shout the song title and repeat t he same tired verse over and over. Exceptions go to 'In the Streets', 'Malfunction', and the title track, otherwise it feels really uninspired. This album takes some pretty broad moved and fucking kills it
