Yes, they help you complete missions faster, but there is no difference whether you use aids items or not (I’m talking about the main missions). However, there are bonus missions (the last missions of each stage) that can’t be played without the required aid item (vehicle, car, or clothing). Additionally, with city keys, if you have one of the aid items (only one) and use or equip it while collecting keys in the city, you will get double the keys! 😀
