I just ordered a bunch of upgrades for my basic Tiger. I want to take it apart and paint and super detail the hull while I am waiting for the parts to arrive. Now I know how thanks to your video!

@@OpenRoader So it appears that they have done some revisions to the chassis since you recorded this. The forward screws on mine were not located where yours were....mine were underneath the spare track on the front of the hull. Needless to say, I ended up getting it apart!

I have a recent v7 Heng Long Tiger I and it's amazing to see how far they've been improved over the years. No need for a separate switch for the smoke unit or volume control, it's all controlled from the transmitter nowadays. Lots of other improvements too 🙂

Just bought one second hand - traced failure to start to loose battery box crystal removed and refitted its circuit board and secured the crystal with tape to prevent it falling down with gravity. Biggest problem was tracing the final 2 front superstructure screws behind the detachable track link section.

So a battery pack goes into the space at the bottom of the tank? Got a hold of what I think is a similar RC tank but it's not complete. There is a metal cover on the bottom. Several parts are mising so it can't just be powered up and go! Thank you the smoke generator is optional?

Hi mate, i have the same one with a snapped barrel. Well I think it’s the same one, it’s a blue box. Not sure it has speakers on the one I have or not, it doesn’t say on the box. It was my dads but he passed away. I was just gunna fix it up and see if it works. Any idea if the heng long v7 barrel will fit on this one? I haven’t even had it apart yet, I can’t get the hub caps off, well one came straight off but I can’t seem to get the other one off, it’s almost like it’s glued. Also the battery.. it has a nicd battery that hasn’t been used in a long time. How do I know of the battery is charging if there’s no light on the charger? Idk if the battery will even work to be honest. I went to charge but realised there’s no light on the charger, unless you just have to time it with the charger it came with? Any help would be appreciated mate, as I want to try and get a barrel for it off aliexpress and get it working again. Thanks

Excellent video man, thank you,i have one of these and my turret quit going up and down and i need to know how to take it apart to see what might the issue be,i use this tank very very little and before a few days ago it hadn't been started in like 3 years, i hope its not a electronic issue and more like a plug that might be loose etc

    • @dntlss
      @dntlss 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, thank you much for your reply,i took the tank apart and kinda tapped the motor that moves the turret and presto it started working again, i think because i use the tank so little and it had been a few years it probably was just stuck from not using it, it works fine now,i know if it wasn't for your video i probably would have broken something taking it apart, much appreciated.
I have metal tracks on mine and i was thinking of putting some new gears and motors in it,i have heard there is a set of motors and steel gears that give the tank more of a realistic slow speed and the gears of course being metal are much better, you wouldn't happen to have a part number handy for that or maybe the proper name that i can search for them? there are so many options out there between the old Tiger model (which i have) and the new Tiger model tank etc its kinda confusing to me,my tank is bare bones, no smoke no sound early model.

    • @OpenRoader

Yes, the screws they use are cheaply made chinese crap. They are neither 3/32nd standard or 2.5mm metric. The metric seems a tiny bit closer. You might want to try a tiny screw driver or even file down a larger allen to fit properly. Sorry I don;t have better news for you. Good luck

There is a very good chance the smoker is flooded. I have found through experience that if you overfill the smoker it will flood the heating coil and it will not smoke. I would drain the smoker, let it dry, then turn it on and see if it smokes, if it does, then add just a few drops of smoker juice. Never run the smoker completely dry for a long time.

    Hi!
Few days ago...I bought one HL Tiger 1version 7.0 for my son.
We played until battery dead ( not too long with the charging came from the shop).
I charged completely the battery...put it on...playing again a little...and them, don't ask me why :)) I starded to experience with the combinations of buttons from the remote control..accoding with the papers the tank came...just to experiment...
Unfortunately the tank now is really messed up on all directions.
Everything works fine...all sounds...turret up down, left right, lights, sounds, machine gun, main gun....but the moving forward, backwards, left right is all over the place. More than that the tank doesn't rotate left or right on place...nothing...
I tried to reset to factory settings and for nothing... I did it couple times...no reseting.
All this in just few hours...
    Any advice?
I heard that the soldering on this tanks are crap and the boards as well....
I am not an electrician type of guy and have no electrical measurements tools..
    Any ideas?
    Thank you so much !!!!

I did again the reset to factory settings and it looks like is working fine forward and backwards..still struggle to turn on place..basically no turn. It manages to turn few degrees only to the left and only on moving forward or backwards.
What intrigues me is...if I lift the tank in the air..it does all the movings correctly...like for ex... when all the way left or right..the tracks are moving one forward one backward...but when putted on the floor...it can't do the turn.
All looks fine few cm above ground/floor when sustained and hold in hand...once putted down...no movement...sound ok...sound increase as I push left or right on the remote. The same like one accelerate a car but is not in gear...(only on the floor...and spins fine above the floor..on hand).
I will have to open and visually inspect everything in there.
      Thank you again !!!
