Mugu Airport Landing & Takeoff

In July 2018 I visited the district of Mugu in Nepal.
Mugu is one of the remotest places in Nepal, located in the upper west of the country. The airport, carved into the side of a hill, is one of the worlds most dangerous.
We were stranded at Tulcha Airport, Mugu, for three days as there were very few flights coming in, but many people waiting.

every bit of the runway was used and nice gentle climbing turn. i would not mind being in the first officer seat for landing and take off from Mugu - i love Nepal. My 10 days in Nepal was absolutely amazing, except for one evening spent on a hill top. We could not drive down because of the weather and spent one sleepless, freezing night in a small inn with no heating. Carry a heavy jacket - just in case .

Thrilling. I've never flown in - the airstrip was still under construction then. I heard it was right on the edge of the mountain, but that is truly incredible. There's very little room to spare. No wonder they don't like flying in or out when the weather is a bit unpredictable. LJ
