Buffalo Ascension remains a super popular entry in the iconic Buffalo family of slots where you win by landing 2 or 3 of the same symbol on adjacent reels from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel. To help, wild symbols may land on reels 2, 3 and 4.
The novelty of this version of Buffalo is that reels 2, 3, and 4 can be 4, 5, 6 or 7 reel positions high: they grow any time the Arrow symbol lands and if you make it to the top, you will be awarded the special feature a the top, either a Free Games Feature with 2x and 5x multipliers, the Stampede Feature or the Super Stampede Feature. When the Stampede Feature is initiated, 1 or more symbols on the reel set will transform into Buffalo and for the Super Stampede, 3 or more symbols will transform into Buffalo.
Finally, if reel 3 is 7 positions high, a Jackpot Arrow may land and if it does, you are awarded the Top Jackpot Award!

The way the stampede works is that it picks random symbols to replace with buffalos. (Aka Jacks, aces, etc). You got hosed because it didn’t replace the 10’s, 9’s, or queens.
Absolutely! As I recall there were 6 total replacements and what was chosen was super unlucky. Or possible there's logic so that it's not completely random, although I would hope that's not the case.

You know Tim, one thing I like bout Ascension, is that sometimes once the free games are done, it unexpectedly gives free games again, especially where you can get 2 or more coins all the way across the screen when it re-triggers. But the only thing that drives crazy sometimes, is when it barely doesn't pay anything during free games. Especially the stampede feature! I was so shocked how she was the first machine I hit my first handpay on too
It may be one of the most volatile games out there where you can have the perfect setup and just have it not go your way! I mean for me this time, it could have been better if what happened to me was in the bonus of course. I was live streaming one time and got like 90 games and I don't recall the payout, I just recall it wasn't good!
