I love my 2017 destroyer gray challenger GT here in Colorado. The AWD is great but can be disabled for parking lot donuts in the snow. Gas mileage is decent, and the car is very fun to drive
How are you turning awd completely off? Is it just turning traction control off? (Holding it until its all the way off not just pressing it)
I enjoy the fact that you stay quiet and let the footage do the talking.
I just want to appreciate how safe of a driver you are, and how courteous you are on the roads.
Decent car, would be cool to see the 5.7 offered in all wheel drive too.

It was on the charger at one point not sure why they stopped it was perfect too me great traction still got sideways if u wanted to. Challenger never got this upgrade though🤷🏾♂️
I think the chrysler 300c offers it still but im not sure
@@8twalker Civilian V8 Chargers lost the AWD option after the mid-cycle refresh in 2015 when the new ZF 8-speed replaced the old 5-speed auto. The V8 police Chargers were available with AWD until 2020 because they were still using the 5-speed auto; the 5-speed was finally replaced in the police models for 2021. Now the only way to get an AWD Charger (civilian or police) is with a V6. My guess on why the didn't keep the AWD option is that they didn't think it was worth developing an AWD system compatible with the ZF 8-speed.

Both are good but IMO the price difference is not that big so r/t definitely worth it.

This may be an odd comment but if you're thinking about the GT and if you are thinking of a used car, I would say check out the Chrysler 200 S Awd with the V6 since it's lighter and has more power than a Charger GT.
I would buy the rt challenger with the 5.7 if they offered awd I need it where I live but sadly I have to go with the gt challenger. If you’re not worried about awd like I am then I say go for the rt.
man dodge needs to give us AWD variants of their scatpacks and hellcats.
AWD muscle car now that’s something I never wanna see, if you want AWD you take the Durango or Trackhawk
@@kilsha9477 It should be an option. some of these cars have issues putting power down. Yes, better/wider tires help. But i would love for my scatpack charger to have AWD. IT would really help counter the weight off the line.

Out of the American 3, that 3.2 and 3.6 Pentastar V6 is my favorite engine it a good raspy sound depending on model especially the last generation Chrysler 200 and current Jeep Cherokee with the V6.
I bought a 2019 Ram Rebel in September 2020. This awesome sport car is my next goal.
I wonder how good these actually are in the snow. You can get a manual transmission with every engine in a Camaro or Mustang, yet Dodge doesn't offer a manual 3.6 Challenger.
I have an AWD 2017 challenger GT here in Colorado. It does very well in the snow, but you can turn off the AWD and traction control to rip donuts in the snow if you want. Its really fun to drive in snow

Buy the GT. Your auto insurance will go thru the roof with the V-8. Also, your in city gas milage will really suffer. I know because I've owned both an R/T and a GT.
Tedward, please review a 5.7 charger R/T. Drove it in Cali in 2019 on winding roads and got thoroughly impressed...

Good video, you can get a custom tune and add 40hp 40tq at the wheels for about $800.00 and with the 3.07 gears they pull great!

technically outside the autobahn/track( improvised or real) all cars are equally fast , about 75mph, but Smart driver is using every bit of power and space it has. Driving slow car fast is way more fun than cruising between work and walmart in a 300hp + vic former is a waste

Would need a supercharger and some super tens on a true dual exhaust....and maybe a hellcat body kit of some sort. Then yes I could daily drive this for sure. But stock, no way.

It takes TH-cam a couple hours or days to fully process the HD version to make it super clear. I do pov videos as well.

Not bad it has pretty good handles and is quite fast in terms of picking up speed. But for the price they are asking for is not worth I’d rather pay up a few more dollars and get a R/T

I doubt it but it does ride about an inch taller than rear drive version.
Does the gt only come in awd? Or is it optional?
When it was introduced in 2017 in was only awd model . I think in 2019 it became on option on the base sxt and they introduced a rear drive GT version. SXT and GT are v6 only.

The AWD seems to really improve the handling of these cars. Would like to see it offered on some of the V8 models also.👌🏽
They did that in the V8 Chargers some years ago, but as I remember it increased the cost too much for some reason so they didn't sell very well.
I'm so nervous. I am Autistic but I still drive. I've had a Dart for 7 years. My dream car is a Hellcat Challenger, but that's not in the cards. So next logical and budget is the Challenger GT. Any advice when driving this beast? No I do not stupidly race. I am safe driver, and I do not pull fast and furious bs. I'm just worried and nervous about retraining my brain for the size difference for the curbs. Like driving in Baltimore. How do you tell when you're too close? Don't be a jerk, honest question. No I don't have family to show me or practice with it. I bought my first car- my dart by myself.

@@trustsinceway1182 Mine was also a rare make that had an additional add on for side sensors. Driving her has been a lot easier but she's still a wide girl so I do have to be careful on narrow roads and bridges.

In a couple of months... it will all be DEAD. No more Challenger, Charger or 300.
I understand why this car exists. That doesn't mean I won't dislike it. It shouldn't exist. But it does because people for some reason want a car that goes against the entire ethos of that model. And I know "they don't care" or "well I need AWD", etc. There's plenty of other AWD v6s out there, hell they'd do a better job being what they set out to be than this is. People want to have their cake and eat it too, I get it, it sells. K. Whatever. They end up getting a car that's worse at being everything it is. It just doesn't sit right with me.
It exists because some people just want a nice stylish car but don't need or want the V8. I'm a muscle car fan myself but don't think that everybody has to agree with me. And this thing is pretty quick .
I used to think that way too... back in the day I thought it was sacrilege to have a v6 mustang (Ive had an 07 GT from new)... but I’ve changed my mind. I’m fine with it. In fact, I kinda like the smaller engine models. I totally get why people buy them.

More like 6.5 seconds... Which isn't great, but fine for a kinda usable daily driver.
v6 will never be a v8 never understand the idiots who would drive this over the hemi just pay the extra grand for the v8 its worth it
AWD isn't available with the Hemi engine.

I drive the limit or more and it's so smooth, such a good ride and lighter up front for better cornering feel.
They're nice looking, classic muscle cars but man is the interior just.. UGLY
