Listen to your body and, above all, to your soul, which is screaming: “Fix the damn bike, I want to get back on the road!” 😋 I speak from experience. Love how the bike is coming back together! I feel like the front tyre is on backwards though, the threads are pushing water towards the centre instead of pushing it out. But what do I know, as you thought me to say😆
@@tijmenstrating4513 thank you and exactly what do I know haha! So I’ve looked at the tire orientation because it doesn’t make sense to me either but the best answer I found to why front tires seem backwards from rear tires is “Braking forces are opposite of acceleration forces” All of the tires on my bikes, from Harley to Ducati to Aprilia and Honda are like this. I still don’t grasp it 100 percent but that’s the best reason I’ve heard so far 👍🏻
The best tool you can buy is a shop manual. Also, if you go duel disc, make sure to change the master cylinder to 11/16" bore so you are moving enough fluid to actuate the calipers properly.

I just went threw a clutch nightmare on my 1986 FXST, I discovered that someone at one time upgraded the old style clutch cable to the new style 87 and up ball and ramp type, and for some odd reason added a extra part onto where the clutch cable attached making it to long. This part was not in the manual at all, I do not know how it worked right all these years by the cable barely adjusting out in order to even work. Crazy crap like that makes the service manual very valuable because it does not lie.
