    Another tip for saving battery life: Turn "double tap to wake" off. Double tap to wake is a feature where if you just tap on your screen twice it will light up and if you double tap during normal screen it will turn off display which is the same as pressing side button. When you have this feature on the screen is constantly draining battery by readying to detect any tap on screen. So turn it off can save some juice.

    Used S3 for 6 years from 2012 to 2017, got an S7 Edge in 2017 and been using it for another 6 years till mid-2022 when I felt the need to upgrade because it was insane surviving on 32 GB in this day and age. So I got myself a S22 plus 256 GB while still being deeply attached to my S7 Edge. I disabled all the new apps and made my S22 look and behave exactly like my old phone. I think I will keep both and use the new one just for taking photos. I love my Samsung so much.

    I enable the gesture hint, which hints the gestures bar. I do this because of 2 purposes, first because I am already just got used to them so well that I don't ever need this bar and secondly because of the fact when you try it by your own, that you get a much more cleaner look without this bar. I personally recommand it to everyone who's used to the gestures, just turn the gesture hint on or for those who're trying to get used to them

    It's a matter of personal use needs and preference, but I don't find using 120hz refresh rate to be that much better. And combined with how much battery life 60hz saves, I don't find the trade-off to be worth it. The base S22 doesn't have a large battery in the first place. So I keep mine at 60hz.... but that's my personal preference.

How do I get some kind of led notification type of thing on the screen to show I have a pending notification without turning on the screen. HIDE YOUR NAVIGATION BAR people! The nav bar is constantly displayed on the screen - it can and WILL burn in on your OLED screen. This happened to my old S8. Same applies to the status bar - the battery icon, signal & wifi strength indicators will also burn in.
    Note: "burn in" is not exactly what's happening - the pixels of the nav and status bar are always lit, and they are always a light or white color. Over time their brightness diminishes to the point, that they appear as tho they have burned in. Dark mode will not solve this, since the visual elements in these bars will still be bright. Just put as many apps as you can in full screen (especially the browser, since that is used for hours each day), and hide your nav bar entirely and use gestures instead.

    I hope you can get my mind right. #1. It's been years, but I remember when you could enlarge a doc and it would fit the screen. Now you have to scroll left and right to read it. #2. I recall being able to highlight a word in the body of a doc. This was done on the search page. This would allow you to go straight to the info you were seeking. Are these still possible? Hope you can help.

    6:55 you don't close your background apps nowadays anymore to save battery, if this is your intention. you actually use more battery to fully re-open apps instead of using the cached data to access where you've been. "closing" them is btw not stopping them from running in the background ( since you always get notified no matter the app is open or not)

    • @discoveramerica8097
      @discoveramerica8097 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But everyone say always close background if you want to save battery

    • @koalamusik
      @koalamusik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@discoveramerica8097 that was what you used to do back in the days, where apps where really closed this way. nowadays the way the operating systems handle apps changed. you still get messages and notifications even the app is "closed"? yes, because it still runs in the background. what you see when viewing the "open apps" is an image, a cached shortcut where you've been in the app the last time. a shortcut to skip some of the initial steps when fully open/reload an app. this cache is consuming almost no energy and without the shortcut you don't only have to wait while "opening" the app again, it also drains more battery without it. so, you better leave this outdated advice where it belongs and keep apps "open". you can do your own research on that topic, be careful if the articles you read are up to date and have trustworthy technical background information. I've worked as an technician for years. you did close apps that way on old phones, but not anymore

    I also make a point to opt out of all of the tracking and data collection. Samsung is so bad about this, there's literally so much stuff they collect it's so frustrating constantly trying to find what's being shared and harvested. They install so much stuff and then there's also all of the google apps that track and collect data. I restrict all of it and disable everything I don't use and for the apps that can be uninstalled, I uninstall them.

    This is cool. I also like that they have Grammarly on them. Some of this I did not quite grasp/understand. I tried to hear some of what he was saying, yet it was a little hard to make out. If anyone knows of another video that kind of covers these and more, with more of a 101 explanation, would be most appreciated. For example the last bit labeled *Other Tips* if something covers an explanation of these things. That would be great. About the 120hz refresh rate? What is the purpose of this other than gaming?
    Our other thing is where would we be able to find either the keyboard or setting (if any) to be able to double click say a word, and thereafter be able to click on the CAPS key to capitalize the selected word or first letter of a word? Like our last android, Is there a way to still be able to make this happen?
