18yrs old?? Wow, good for him! You gotta start/learn somewhere. I just completed my first year of driving a dump truck. I’m so thankful my boss took a chance on me with no experience. I’ve learned a lot, but this right here would’ve made me so nervous, lol
I think the young man driving did great..that was a hard corner to make. I have never understood why those haul trucks are not 4 wheel drive either...they pull into some crazy situations...
It would be hard to make a truck with a wheel base that short 4WD. You would have to squeeze a 4WD transfer case between the transmission and the rear drive axle. These trucks are extremely short wheelbase to aid in maneuvering the homes.
I would hire him today to move by mobile home now it's been 2 years, can you imagine how good he would be now with this experience and probably many more like under his belt?
@@josephlivengood4508 I wonder how much of a cost would it be to move a 12×64 oversized trailer for 20plus miles? I just purchased one & gotta move it.
I've tore down set up transported factory transportation mobile homes and moduler homes around the country for 34 years I miss it had my 1 st truck at the age of 16 started around 12 years old working with my father he built mobile home parks around the country cool video
It is a specialized field and those that do it work extremely hard, tearing it down was only h as of. After navigating all the roads and traffic they had to get on a new lot and set back up. They definitely have my respect. I wondered why they did a few things when they were doing them but soon learned they knew exact what to do. Grandad was letting his grandson learn and no better way than to get in the seat and do it! Very specialized trade
I am trying to "learn" a little as I will be having mine moved in a few months. I'm assuming I will need to take everything out idk how this works. My husband wants to pour a concrete pad..I'm completely lost. I just know I want plenty piers and double strapped or anchored somehow. I purchased it sitting on a rented lot for now until my property is ready. The only positive is my property is approximately 6 miles from where it's sitting now. I'm nervous and want to learn what I can now. I watched another video where a lady was having her double wide moved but they Didn't plastic down each side it was just wide open..I would like mine covered with something to protect it. I don't know if thats extra or what.
That is a very nice home in excellent condition, it's just that you had no use for it and were sick and tired of looking at it. 😂 Best believe someone enterprising got that home, threw a few grand into upgrading it and sold it for a nice profit. All of those ruts in the ground will settle and be gone in no time and I don't think there was ever any danger of those trucks not being able to get the home out. But congrats to you for getting rid of it, since you didn't want it any more, moving on!✌🏽😊✨ PS, I have been watching a lot of these videos lately and it's a topic that most people have no knowledge of. When it was only me and my daughter I bought a used mobile home, had a company deliver it and that’s all they did, had to hook up everything myself never had done it before. I’ve taught myself everything I know. took off the tongue, jacked it all up, removed the axles , installed skirting , oil line, plumbing, main feed from pole, everything , learned a lot. Now I have a class A I’ve always wanted to get me one of those moving trucks and start my own thing doing it, only if I had the financial backing I know I’d be successful.

They probably had to take that right turn because when you moved a mobile home you have to get permits and follow alot of local and state laws depending on where you at but those permits can dictate which route you can take and the time of day you can travel.
haha ive been watching mobile home moving videos because we just sold our mobile home and the guys who got it also had a struggle like in your video where they turned right instead of left. they got stuck in a ditch and i was surprised the trailer didn’t flip, i thought it was going to

I have same truck but the wiring isn’t correct can I get some photos of your bus bare wiring maybe helpful the rear buttons are no longer working only interior buttons to move the hydraulic hitch
I watched a video that showed how if you don't make "the pad" correctly with compression on the rock, u end up with crocked flors and doors that don't work right.
Wow...that was incredible...The concept of mobile homes... majority of people in this world aren't even aware of this...! It seems you own a hell lot of land property...! How much do you own...?
They are a very neat concept, this one wasn’t taken care of by previous owners and had many water leaks that caused more damage than I was willing to fix. I only have 25 acres and that’s relatively small tract of land in this area, most have 50 plus. Thanks for watching!
I bet this would be the absolute worst client to move furniture for. He would be the guy saying “hey that dresser is heavy, I can’t watch, I can’t watch and just remain all up in the way!” I don’t understand why he even want to be there and not somewhere else that was less stressful. “Luckily that’s not on my side” 😅
We had a very wet month prior and they did an outstanding job with the wet conditions. I came across condescending and that was not my intention in any way but just my delivery made it seem that way. These guys were professionals in every way and granddad let his 18 year old grandson drive and I was much more stressed than either one. The best way to learn is OJT and if granddad didn’t think he could turn right out of drive he certainly would not have. I still think the trucks should be 4x4 but maybe that’s not an option. That is a specialized trade and hats off to them.
Hmm, I need to figure out how to do this without a truck, an dmoving the trailer sideways incrementally up an incline hill. I'm thinking walk it up, by pickign one end up at a time, walking it so many feet, setting it back down, repeat on othe end, over and over and over again using jacks and blocks.
It was, unfortunately the property sat vacant for many years and the trailer house suffered from no maintenance. It needed a new roof, new front door, the window in kitchen was leaking and rotted the wall and sub floor, the main shower was leaking and the walls were all molded in bathroom, it was infested with carpenter ants, wasp, and lady bugs. From sitting unlevel for extended period the roof inside had started to crack and kitchen light fixture had fallen as result. The kitchen counter and cabinet were butchered to get larger refrigerator in and both decks needed rebuilt, and I’m sure I’m forgetting something . I didn’t have the money to put in so basically donated it to someone who had the finances to rehab it. Thx for watching
It was moved about 45 min away in a normal day but probably took them about an hour and a half just bc of size and slower travel speeds. They tore it down, transported and set back up for approximately $5500. They didn’t break down by miles. They did it all in 1 day. Very efficient family owned company. Hope that helps
Depends on the companys costs, what type it is and tongue type (bolted or welded). Also depends on the type of home it is (single or multiwide (double/triple/quad ((yes theres more than just double and singlewides)) and the removal and transport of attachments to it such as porches/balconies + steps, condensation units. Also depends on the distance its being carried, so if you were to want a single wide moved 20 miles that would range between $4k-6k (varies between companies)

No idea, I bought the farm with the house already on it. It would have been nice to keep but I needed my money elsewhere on the farm so she had to go. Thx for watching! Dave
It needed work. New roof, front door, kitchen window leaking and had rotted wall and floor. Cabinets had been hacked up to make room for bigger fridge so they needed repaired. Shower leaked and rotted wall. Infested with carpenter ants. It still had good bones but needed several thousand dollars out into it which I wasn’t willing to do when my priorities were on fencing and a barn. I sold it for $6000 but the purchaser was responsible for moving, permits, set up at new location. By the time it was done I think he had about $17K in it. Very reasonable for a house in my opinion. He moved it on to his personal property to put his elderly mother in so he could watch over her.
I didn’t move it myself. Georgia’s Best Mobile Home Service did the work. You can contact them directly or another mobile home service in your area. Thank you
Pretty much in any rural county, around major cities they are typically not permitted unless they have already been there and are grandfathered in. Once you get away from major cities they are typically permitted but depending on the city, they will have different requirements. For example: it has to be a double wide instead of a single wide, it has to be a minimum square foot, etc. They have “trailer parks” where you set up your trailer permanently and just lease the spot year to year. I’m just outside Atlanta and there are several parks around the metro. Some are super run down and then others are very nice up-kept. Mine was moved off of personal property onto another piece of personal property but could have been moved into a park. It was around 1900 square ft inside, 3 bedroom 2 full bath. Hope that helps
