Same here 64 now,great band.Enjoyed playing there records when I was a youth club DJ,from 74 to 1980.Then I fell deeply in love,only to have my heartbroken 10 months later.
I've just turned 70, I listen to songs like these and it takes me right back. Does anyone else wish they could go back to those times and correct all the mistakes you made? I do, every day.
Not mistakes I wish I had more fun I love my music all types my first crushes and still are Gerry Shepard /Harvey Ellison /john rosall Alvin stardust I maybe over 21 but still luv all the music me grow up never going to happen I was reminded recently it took me three months pocket money to buy my first electric blue glitter platform boots 5 inch heels was I cool or what and still are xxx😊
No. I have lived a life of utter debauchery, hedonism, mistakes, failed marriages, crimes I can't mention and have a group of lifelong friends that have ridden the whirlwind with me. Although I have gotten into more scrapes than anyone should. Being stabbed, part of a murder investigation, shot at twice, nearly blown up twice and an uncountable number of lovers behind me, I wouldn't change a single thing in my life. Its brought me here and made me the well loved, articulate, ever loving, all accepting individual that I am. There's not a single thing that I would change, even the stabbing, although I do sincerely wish that the woman I was with didn't have to die. I didn't kill her, but there's a long story behind it. Be proud of what you have or haven't achieved. Be happy of where you are. Never regret anything that you have done. You can't change your past, but you can learn from it and make a difference in your future.

A truly excellent record from the magical life changing year of 1974. The Glitter Band were a fantastic group and the lyrics of this song seem to say "Take me back to the early/mid 70s!" Great beat for dancing to, as you reminisce. A truly glittering memory from the glittering early/mid 70s!

Think I was in the audience at this TOTP! I loved and still love the Glitter Band and I nicked one of Pete Phipps drumsticks when they had finished their song! Was devastated when I found out Gerry had died and also Harvey, who was my favourite.

On Saturday, 2nd October, 2021 John Rossall, saxophonist, passed away after a long cancer battle. Reunited with his glitter band pals may he rest in peace. He carried the Glitterband torch always put on a great show.

I was young and loved the summers in great yarmouth.Lots of girls and went to see the glitter band at tiffanys. I think it was 1975, the place was rammed. Great times.
OMG I didn’t realise he was dead 😢. This was my favourite Glitter Band song ever. 61 in a couple of weeks and still LOVE it. Saw them in concert once. Fond memories.
Remember seeing this band at the old Talk of the East in Norwich in the early 70s, fab stuff being a teen and with my old lost love Josie, flippen heck i miss her so much, and listening to this just sends me back,
Superb record evoking nostalgia for the magical early/mid 70s and young love. Good beat for doing modern jive/ceroc and salsa dance practice now (by yourself of course!). And could be a superb anthem for rejoining Europe! Brejoin!!

Why would this dj have to be brave, this band did absolutely nothing wrong, yet this same dj would happily play Michael Jackson songs, a man who payed many millions of dollars to make sure a child's parents didn't proceed with a prosecution, it makes me sick

I was 14 or 15 when my friend and I went to a Gary Glitter concert so this was in 74 or 75. We were standing outside waiting for the Glitter Band to come out after rehearsal to get autographs and I only got Gerry's but he asked me if I would like to come to a party after the concert, but being a good girl I said no though it was hard because he was so cute. It was only a few years ago it hit me that had I gone I may have ended up in a bad way had I gone because I guess Gary would have been there too and I'm sure there was no party that Gerry had something else in mind and I thank my lucky stars for saying no.
