You should've compared the Petrol versions. The Diesels are heavily underpowered.
Baleno needs an update ! Swift interiors with that flat bottom steering give it more modern look and in rest of all Baleno shines it needs a rear AC vent with cooled glove box too

Avsk Reddy no it doesn't, swift steering looks tacky as hell. Baleno has 3 spoke steering just like old BMWs
Best thing but Suzuki I like is steering quality and feel it’s not too light like Hyundai nor to harsh like Figo
Happy baleno user for almost 4 years not even a single issue only regular servicing

Recently I buy Swift zxi+...It's awesome to drive 👌👌 I drive 500km in 11 hour but didn't feel tired
I agree. Baleno does look more upmarket than Swift. One more thing i observed, new swift look smaller than its predecessor but its design is improved...
Baleno is 155mm longer and wider than Swift but both weigh exactly the same 985kgs WOW! So what gives? :O

they say that baleno engine sounds louder, so im guessing they have less sound proofing in baleno.
I love both but if it comes to modification I will go for Swift base model
Baleno is must better then it comes to driving experience...i personally experienced both.
It's a disappointment that the Swift doesn't handle better as it was anymore. The Swift was known for its excellent feel of handling and body control.
Do a Brezza vs S cross comparison too.
You should drive the Petrol version of the New Swift(ZXI+). It is lighter, more power packed and still has that peppy driving experience. A petrolhead will definitely turn to it because of it's handling, driving fun and sporty interiors. Kudos. ✌🏻
I'll prefer the New SWIFT ....
Baleno is just look like a audi. A premium car. If you look at the both car on side profile you just follen in love with baleno... And price space, specifications are not matter........
Came across a article which says the European swift is up to 100kgs heavier than the Indian swift and all the weight reduction is metal reinforcement
As a result Indian swift is lighter,fuel efficient,faster and cheaper
But in case of a crash may the god be with you
Swift & baleno belong to different segments. Its like comparing city & civic. Suzuki should differentiate by tuning baleno to make extra power.

@@neoncity1557 maruti's 4cyl k12 is very much refined than ford's 3cyl dragon series.
I agree that dragon engine has 10hp more. but still not having k12's performance to noise ratio.

I recently drove the new hen swift during a test drive and whilst the car is responsive etc the build quality is very tinny it’s a very very light car and personally to me it’s not ideal
I drive a Jazz diesel top end and I feel the Honda is better built in comparison to the Suzuki

I have Baleno Zeta PETROL, it gives 16.5kmpl & it's quit surprising because where I'm driving...there is only so called road...thanks to National Highway Authority of India...so yes it packs with lots of premium features and offers better fuel economy too..

I love both Swift and Baleno but my main criteria is automatic transmission and this is where I prefer Swift ZDI AGS

Baleno is good but the interior matters ( even in 2019 facelift ).

Why doesn't Maruti realises the important of safety. Both the ford figo and elite i20 get 6 airbags and a more safer chassis.
Baleno is better in my opinion as the price gap is almost non existent and in spite of being larger,it still drives the same(I can't drive yet so going by this review). However I wish it got 6 airbags from the eu version and stuff like cruise control and an armrest.Great review
No rear AC vent is a deal breaker for me....it's a must in India....that's wherr Hundai does better.....

Its Rather wiser to choose Dzire instead of both these cars as its more value for money with rear a/c vents and centre Arm rest. Also the price difference is of jus about 50k for the same variant between Dzire and Swift... The pricing of Swift seems to has badly failed...
Excellent comparison!! A comparison video of Baleno and Elite i20 2018 would be an amazing one as two brands against each other.
The entry level models of Baleno is also better equipped as of Swift's

seriously you guys must do a review of all three generations of maruti Suzuki Swift , recently it crossed 1 lakh sales of new swift.
AC vents is the big misconception today in small car category because cold air is heavier i.e. in a running car it simply cools the car back first.
Figo/aspire ac is the best example over dzire/excent/grand i10 etc. because AC itself so powerful it beats all its vent equipped rivals.
Yes... Everyone should know Ford Ac s powerful.... And rear ac vents r just blowers.... Not rear acs....

YES BRO.AS BALENO PRICE IS ALMOST EQUAL ,TO COPE UP,MARUTI HAD SPOILT THE METAL QUALITY OF BALENO.BALENO METAL IS THIN .I HAVE THE SWIFT AND MY BROTHER HAS BALENO.HE SHARED THAT
None of the above to choose from my side...They both together can't match the luxury,premium and comfy feel of i20 elite with the facelift..They are good bt not great like elite i20..
Liked the video comparing within MS. I would have chosen ignis over both for driving pleasure alone. The 1.2 petrol manual specifically. Just that the ignis pricing is very premium compared to what it offers in other departments. PS, I don't worry about the looks or space on offer.

Try comparing Swift 2009and Swift 2018 **both diesel**... That should be much useful..... It might give an idea to upgrade the car

eddy9881 because swift is more fun to drive and before baleno swift was the only hatchback to get fun to drive engine. I love baleno too but swift is king since 12 years, swift has established its name since years now.

Parth Shinde Yeah I think so ...a new 1.5 diesel and petrol are coming . That's why Maruti is also going to introduce 6 speed manual Transmission in some upcoming cars
Yeah, they're developing a 1.5 Litre. Btw, no R&D on the 1.3 was spent! All sourced from Fiat!

Maruti people in India deserve a change in the engines of your cars. Since last 10years the same boring diesel and petrol engines. It's stupid to have same engines for baleno and swift.
Raparthy Saran although diesel engine is boring one but 1.2 k series petrol is still hoot to drive than the rest of the competition.
I have to say autocar is the best car review flatform in india and gives unbaias opinion and this comparo was very true as lot of reviewers didn't even mentioned baleno's suspension is not that great it is stiff and insulation is not that great especially in diesel engine.
