🔴 p-n Junction | Forward and Reverse Bias | video in HINDI

  • In this Physics (Digital Electronics) video lecture in Hindi for class 12 we explained forward and reverse bias in p-n junction diode in terms of depletion layer and potential barrier. When positive terminal of a cell is connected to p side of the pn junction, it is called farward baising and when positive terminal of a cell is connected to n side of the pn junction, it is called reverse baising. Current flows in forward bias and not otherwise. During forward bias depletion layer becomes very thin and potential barrier reduces, hence current is allowed to flow. But during reverse bias depletion layer becomes very thick and potential barrier increases, hence current stops.

@@pranjal_pathak. there is no shame in learning. In fact so many times I learn from my own students. There is something wrong before the topic of forward bias and reverse bias i.e on the topic of depletion layer. Sir you said that the free electrons diffuse towards the p type semiconductor to fill up the holes which makes the n side positive but it is the valence electrons which move towards the p side which makes the n side positively. That is the concept in hc Verma on page 403 and 5th line after the figure 45.10

Sir here valence electrons are the free electrons which move from n to p region.
Valence electrons in outermost shell are called free electrons.... Given in ncert of chemistry..

Keshav Mishra the video clearly says that pentaVALENT elements give electrons that act as free electrons at 2:16

Mostly videos mein ye btate hain ki holes move krte hain, hole empty space h wo move kaese kr sakta h yhi sawal tha bs, but apki video mein sahi cheez btayi h aapne.. Jo main search kr rhi thi wo mujhe mila.. Thank you.. Now I have understood the exact concept.
