Thank you so much and yes, I agree; that’s a great observation. There was a point in my life when I believed hyperrealism was the ultimate goal. But the more I painted and drew, the more I realized that taking it to the extreme, was like just copying photographs. Even though it takes an enormous amount of skill and patience, not to mention time, to paint or draw like that; I believe you are being more like a technician or highly skilled craftsman, than an artist. Like you said: the goal is to be original.

This is where I find hyperrealistic art fails. It takes a special talent to retain a true likeness with less extreme detail and have a unique style.
