Thank you so much! This is the only video with a clear and concise explanation and demonstration of what to do when you first start using a Bialetti Moka. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Wonderful tutorial! Very clear instructions and when I get my new Moka pot, I'll break it in exactly as you recommend 🎉
Thanks!
Ma'am, today I just purchased two new 6-cup Bialetti pots that were on sale at a local store. One thing I have noticed that must be done first, get a paper towel and wipe off all the machine oil, used in forming the funnel. It comes off as a black film on the paper and on your fingers. Wash your hands after this. Once that is done, wash the entire pot in hot water with small amount of dishwashing liquid, then condition.
I suspect those people who complain of a "metallic taste" if they don't condition the pot before use, is actually the machine oil and any fine aluminium particles mixed in with it. 😬 Thank you for your videos.
Thanks for this tip! I have a video coming up using food grade materials for moka pots. Pricey but for sure no metallic taste!
This is the best tutorial in TH-cam what I have been searching for my new Bioletti Moka pot. Best wishes from Vienna❤
Subscribed I'm a huge moka drinker and just bought a new one after 40 years it really was in poor condition. Looking forward to your videos
Welcome on board! I too am fascinated with moka pots!
Very good video, I now know what to do when my Moka pot purchase arrives. Thank you!
Thanks, i just bought the non brand one
It have same box as yours,
Cannot wait to try this
Good video, but dont press the coffe in the funell, just stroke over it with a knife or your finger before closing it. That makes it easier for the coffe to come up.
3x After each first brewing and discarding should you wash the pot and then make your first coffe to drink?
search about "seasoning the moka pot". just use it regularly and don't use soap. the first batch is always discarded (at least from the manual book)
Excellent tutorial, thank you!!
Hi! Hi have a question.
You told, that firstly you must just brew boiled water on your new moka pot, but when I try brew only boiled water it is so difficult. My moka pot starts almost immediately sputtering extremely aggressively, that hot water flies onto the table and I just use lowest possible temperature of my stove. And after that Moka pot do not anymore brew anything and just only steam comes out.
What I do wrong? I will do everything according to your instructions and my moka pot is tightly screwed closed.
You're really not supposed to tap down the coffee, its supposed to be loose, that's why it didn't produce much coffee it prevents the water from getting through the grounds.
A really important video. Thank you. I'm a bad owner, but I'll follow your recommendations.

I learn a lot from ur video.. I would like to ask if u brew ur coffee in ur moka pot how long will the coffee stay fresh after u brew... thank you
Are you using paper filter in MokaPot? What a difference between using paper filter and not using?
Hello! If we use paper filter , the coffee comes out clean without any coffee bits and the top part of the moka pot looks cleaner.
