I’m not sure if there is an architectural solution to that but thank you for sharing.

I'm enjoying your content so thank you. I've got a local architect drawing up plans for an extension, but if i'm honest I don't think i'm going to go through with building it. I think with the high material costs these days there's no real incentive to start a project that is going to be stressful, have hidden costs, and once you start you cant stop. I still see plenty of other people extending, have they not considered the possibility of negative equity? IMO there are to many programmes on tv saying convert your loft etc it'll add £XXXXX. Are houses just becoming over-developed? My parents have looked at a few houses that have had structural issues but they've still gone on to sell at top money, I guess most people either don't know or don't care.

I hear this sentiment a lot and I totally agree with you on property programs selling a dream. There absolutely a squeeze on at the moment between falling house prices and rising construction costs

Interesting most garages are quite narrow to fit a car or allow you to open the door once inside.

This is true but planners aren’t going to spend time checking and debating the issue. They will point out that a small car could fit, therefore the space must count towards overall parking provision.

Over the last few hundred years inflation has averaged a depreciation of the pound by 50% every 20 years. So I can see that £200k today will have the spending power of £125k when you started 15 years earlier. In general.
