    Thank you for this video. Reminded me of my grandmother (may God bless her soul). These look exactly like hers, exactly how she used to make them.

    Omg perfection!! Happy New Year! To save time I freeze my butter and then measure out my flour. I dip the frozen butter in the flour and grate it on the big side of s grater. The pastry comes out great. I also use this method for making buttermilk biscuits.

    I watched 2 different videos of how the dough is made . Your dough is flaky with shortening and the other video the person made their dough with yeast and milk. It’s like bread texture

    • @JennaGTheHijabiTT
      @JennaGTheHijabiTT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting… never heard of the yeast and milk…

  • @GG-de7si
    @GG-de7si 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just FYI, that’s not salara. Salara is bread texture. Far from flakey.

    • @JennaGTheHijabiTT
      @JennaGTheHijabiTT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you... but I think maybe some people use the word kinda interchangeably.... so I still put it as salara but yes you are right it is more bread texture... I believe it is what we actually call coconut turnover here in Trinidad... and not the coconut rolls but 🤷🏻‍♀️
