Heard the terrible news and came straight here. Bernard is so sharp and funny, and this is what I want to spend the day doing, watching and remembering what an amazing person he was.
Just amazing how Phil Jupitus and Noel Fielding are in complete awe of Bernard Cribbins comedic brilliance. They, like all of us grew up with Bernard Cribbins throughout our childhood and continuing into adulthood. What a brilliant, talented man. R. I. P
Devastated.. he was like the grandfather I never had, genuinely in tears.. was lucky enough to meet him many years ago. Rest in peace Bernard, what a terrible loss for us all..🥺🥺
The word legend is used to describe many people but very few are. Mr Cribbins most certainly was. Gave us many years of his talent. He will be missed but never forgotten.
@jemimallah "When I heard that I thought Cribbins wife backstage, have 'em sign it and whack 'em straight onto eBay. Your line was better." I may not have gotten it 100% but it's as close as I can get with this headache.
Had the honour of meeting Bernard recently at a comic con. He's a complete legend. I grew up on his songs and he was one of the main reasons I fell in love with comedy. Was nearly in tears when I sat beside him :)
Devastated to hear about Cribbins’ passing this morning. RIP Bernard, you will never be forgotten. Mostly because I revisit this several times a month to make myself laugh.
Just a reminder what a talented actor, comedian he was, come on, and, in a pleasant manner, just took over the show. Bernard was a constant delight to many generations of children and adults. R.I.P
I don't think its possible to grow up in the UK without having a fond memory of Bernard Cribbins. Whether it was his character in The Railway Children, one of his many stories on Jackanory, or some other show, everyone "met" him at some point, and wishes they had a grandad like him. Rest in peace Sir, and thank you for being part of our childhood.
A legend who's woven into the childhood of anyone who watched TV growing up in the 60s, 70s or 80s. A long life, well-lived, which brought enjoyment and laughter to millions. RIP sir - you were loved.

Genuinely heartbroken at the news today, I’m sure I’m not the only one who really does feel like we’ve lost a friend. Somehow though he’ll never die, alive in so many hearts how can he ever really be gone? R.I.P. old friend x

I'm pretty sure he would have pronounced it leg end, with a cheeky smirk, and perfect comedic timing and it would have made a perfect youtube clip to be enjoyed for all time.

Does anybody remember Bernard's character on fawlty towers? Mr Hutchinson I think, he was bloody hilarious! He was mistaken for a hotel inspector. He's still going strong at 87 now
He was *mistaken* to be a hotel inspector. Mr Faulty heard news that there were hotel inspectors in town, and somewhere along the line he gets the idea that Bernard Cribbin's character was one of them.
Mr Cribbins should've had a knighthood decades ago. The way knighthoods are scattered around all and sundry nowadays, it's a national scandel that he didn't get one. One of our most cherished character actors ans seemingly just a lovely man. He befriended The Railway Children ... and at the same time he befriended us all. RIP Bernard
Aw I just found out, RIP Bernard, you were one of the first companions of DW I had the honor of seeing. Hope he's at peace now like Elizabeth Sladen. Thanks for being the eccentric alien fighting British Grandpa I never had.
I sidled up to him on Clapham Junction station many years ago and started singing "Hole in the ground", he wasn't much pleased by his answer, but it pleased me enormously as I nearly peed myself.
It seems he was always with me all my life! Dr Who, Wombles, NTBuzzcocks, even now after I emigrated he was on Midsomer Murders in French just the other week. And he did Nation Service in the same Battalion and Regiment that I eventually got posted too. Rest in peace Sir, I’ll always have the fondest of memories of you and your humour and acting. that is absolute love of Bernard
I would pay so much money to have a Boosh special with Bernard
It would actually make it funny
Heard the terrible news and came straight here. Bernard is so sharp and funny, and this is what I want to spend the day doing, watching and remembering what an amazing person he was.
Joyful person isn’t he! I’ll never forget him in Doctor Who! He did so much great stuff though! The Wombles were a major part of my childhood!
Yeah I still cannot believe it
By chance, I happened to get suggested this yesterday and didn't thing much of it...and then came to know about the news this morning..!

It's so funny that Donna Noble is everyone's favorite yet Catherine Tate doesn't give even a single shit about Doctor Who.
She came back to the role for Audio stories along side David, so I'm fine with her called the Daleks robots.
People like Donna Noble? I could barely slog through that season because of her.
Furthest from my favorite. Absolute worst
She's my favourite, well technically Wilfred is my favourite despite it being very temporary.
Still the best tho
