    Loved when you said 'ridiculous!'. Sergei is a once a century dancer. Started gymnastics very young. Went to ballet. So talented and so unsettled :(

      Vanessa Jagger for sure he is but sole dedication over so many years away from family takes its toll eventually. Let me know any other dancers worth analysing. 🤸🏽‍♀️

      He is kind of settled at the moment. He has found love and started a family, has a baby with his lovely wife fugure skating Olympic champion, and hope he get's back to international stage despite some recent funny tattoo he made that influenced that, but people still love him and hope he will be internationally successfull to the level he deserves with his skill and devotion to his art.

      In this video he was unsettled though. A beautiful piece of art it is now. He said he's been on the edge of tears in character all nine hours of filming it, also it was a big personal moment, and that's why it is so raw and expressive. I am glad he realised then that he wanted to contunue dancing, just being a free artist.

    I’m hypermobile (Ehlers-Danlos) and I used to dance. I have watched his video dozens of times. I love that you’ve pointed out his strength and control. It’s gorgeous and so athletic.

    It truly means that Sergei has used consistent daily practices which combined ballet, gymnastics and pilates extension/ flexing techniques to obtain excellent posturing and muscle firming precision techniques.That is why he is categorized as an elite athletic ballet/modern dancer. Obviously Sergei is genetically predisposed to a sublime level of gymnastic ability. Anyone who has the privilege of seeing him perform live can readily discern that level of magnificence! Blessings.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

    Врожденная сила характера и жизненные обстоятельства помогли держать дисциплину,которая принесла новую силу и привела к совершенству в движениях,Он стал сильным мужчиной и не боится открывать зрителям свою душу в танце.

    Why is Sergei’s best friend, who actually choreographed the original piece, never ever given credit for his part in this wild success?

    • @Stuart_Cox
      @Stuart_Cox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No storage. Just greater range due to joint mobility, but you have to have the control and power to execute these jumps!

    When you talk about him you and someone on TH-cam comments in another video saying something about him continuing the legacy of great male ballet dancers like Nureyev and Baryshnikov (I think that's what the comment was, can't fully remember), it makes me think of what DeWitt said in 'All About Eve' to Margot Channing about Eve Harrington's reading: "I have lived int he theatre as a Trappist monk lives in his father. I have no other world; no other life - and once in a great while, I experience that moment of revelation for which all true believers wait and pray. You were one. Jeanne Eagles another.......there are others, three or four. Eve Harrington will be among them".

    Hi, do you see a lot of injuries come to you from Pilates? I heard somewhere that many Pilates instructors are not properly trained and many clients suffer injuries. I am interested in taking classes but am hesitant given my age (56) now that I've read this. Would yoga be better? Thoughts? Thanks

    • @Stuart_Cox
      @Stuart_Cox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey BB, if you’re taking up Pilates then make sure your instructor has done a PMA-certified course as most countries don’t regulate the use of the term “Pilates teacher”. I trained with Polestar who are very good but there are a few other courses like BASI which are also well taught. Yoga is good for flexibility and for mental health but I feel if you do some Pilates you will learn how to move your body better and then this will later improve your weak spots in yoga. Only injuries I’ve seen in Pilates are from poor training habits/teaching.
