Four aspect=four signal display (usually) two yellows, a green and a red.
Three aspect=(most common in some areas) three signal display (usually) red, yellow, green
Two aspect = red and green

At a Red signal you obviously stop, in a yellow signal it means the next signal is red and you need to slow down a little, green means go

Orange/yellow light doesn’t mean you need to stop the train it means you have a red light coming up.
