Great work.
Whenever I saw cargo ships navigating in rivers of different countries like China, the US or Germany - I always wondered what was different in those rivers compared to ours. I actually tried finding information on why we never use rivers for trade in Pakistan but I never found much information before this video. Personally I think it would be really nice to have a new third way to trade goods through the rivers and we should make trade by rivers accessible to atleast the lower regions of Punjab and KPK.

It’s very much possible, not sure about the geography of river Indus but it’s possible to connect agricultural towns to big cities. It will reduce the transportation cost, less burden on highways and we can avoid a lot of accidents caused by overloaded grain and produce trucks.
I live in Vancouver Canada and over here fair portion of grain and lumber trade/transportation is done by river.

Step 1 should be to increase agricultural yield by using lesser water from rivers. Using rainwater tanks and many modern fertilisers. Once the nation has enough to eat from its own pockets then comes step 2.
Step 2 then comes by starting off a river trade network from karachi to noshera via using mostly kpk indus tributaries if possible.
Step 3 after success of both step 1 & step 2 we can move onto expanding the river trade network to Jhelum and Chenab..

As an Engineer 1st of all we should update our agricultural system according to experts the indus bsin is the one of the best bsin in the world for soil engineering and storage of water .A country should have storage of water of 130 days but by leatest and new tech we can store the water upto 6k days on indus bsin but in our country we prefer on dams as our politicians have their land in dam areas AFTER tht we must do inland trade through the rivers.

Excellent video. I have seen a sensible and thought provoking video from our country after a long long time. I had read in an old magazine that during 1950s probably West Germany had offered to set up a steel mill at Kalabagh and make Sindh navigable from Arabian Sea to Kalabagh but this idea never materialised. BecauSe Americans and their world bank has always promoted road based transportation infrastructure. Anyways, we have the river Alhamdulillah. This natural gift can still be used . I think yes it is a best route for trade , tourism and development of Pakistan because if we shift our agriculture to modernization, the new world has a lot of techniques through which we can solve our water crisis issue such as drip irrigation system sprinkle irrigation system and much more just our Hydrologists have to do research on that and see the result.
i think through this not only we can solve our road issues (transportation costs) but also our water scarcity issue which is more important than any other.
