You nailed it on the "tired of your own cooking", we too have challenged ourselves to go to new cuisines more than ever before. We do a "mustgo" night with fridge contents, similar to your crisper/pantry idea. We glean from one another the ideas and together we will prevail.

Always been a huge fan of your cuisine over the years so seeing you again is truly exciting. Its also nice to meet your husband Peter. Of all the questions asked by fans , the last one was truly heartfelt and to me, the most important because of all the things happening in today's world. Being a first responder, the biggest way to help recover from a stressful work week, I grab my camera and just go! I think what makes it exciting is most times, I have absolutely no plans as to where I'm going. And, unless we are getting a blizzard, that day, very little will stop me from going. Working 12 hour shifts inside a hospital is stressful so doing this for myself is important. I hope all of you are taking care of yourself and one another. ( sorry so lengthy) Thank you so much!

It is so nice to listen to you again. I miss your videos, the music too! I am French and live in a small town, in northern Michigan, where even "happy" basic herbs are difficult to find. My daughter gifted me a kaffir lime tree for Mother's Day a year ago, and this little tree has brought me a lot of joy. It has inspired me to try new recipes, mostly Asian. I shared some leaves with a young Thai woman at our local farmers' market, and you would have thought I had given her the winning lottery ticket! BTW, I organize my herbs in a drawer, by color, green, brown, whole, etc...Thank you for doing your videos again.

What a joy to see you sand Peter. Bob and I enjoy d your cooking program in the 90's when we lived in Washington state. Wead your soup and it was the best. I lost your recipe. I bought one of your cookbooks, but the recipe is not in it. Anyway, I thought your counsel was wise, that ughtful, and considerate as well as helpful. Thanks. Sherry Plyler

Thanks Laura - always an inspiration. Here are a few things we do at our house to dispel the dinner drudgery. Firstly, we plan a menu for the whole week. Sunday afternoon is our time to shout out ideas and assign them to a day so we can shop accordingly. No one wants to figure out dinner at five o'clock when you're already tired and famished! Secondly, we order in once a week - it's a nice respite from the kitchen and we can support our local restaurants. Lastly, make meals look and feel special. Get out the good china, silverware and fancy glasses, even for takeout meals (don't eat out of styrofoam or foil containers, EW!) It's not like we can have people over these days, so why not fancy it up for yourself?

My spices have taken the liberty to organize themselves over time...most frequent have migrated to the front of the spice shelf and the least used have retreated to the back. I can grab what I need without looking, but no one else can. :)

Thank you for this, Laura! It’s so good to see new content from you!
I did food swap with a friend a couple of times, we basically cooked each other a meal or something that would leave leftovers. It was a great way to change a bit and not eat only the food I cook. We are doing again this weekend and I can’t wait to taste her food again!

Laura, I have watched your video about how to keep fresh herbs, but what of different fruits and vegetables? You use so many to beautiful effect in your dishes yet in this age of Covid and in late winter, I am buying a lot at once : apples, salad leaves, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes etc. Are there any tips and tricks to proper storage? Thank you so much. Your news letters and videos are a burst of light in these grey times.

Sick of my own cooking...that doesn't really happen because I'm always, always trying something new. I will say, though, as the only one of my family who cooks, I do sometimes tire of the task of cooking. When that happens, it's either take-away food or eggs.
