The concept/system of Jaati in today's industrial economy is outdated, irrelevant, outdated, lost its utility and just like Sati, child marriage, etc., should be ebbed out of society. In olden times, Bharat's economy was rural and cottage based. Every member of the family was involved in the process of production/manufacturing. People involved in particular vocation/occupation were given a name/jaati, just like now we say lawyer, engineer, teacher, postman, etc. Usually people married into families engaged in the same type of vocation/occupation so that it will be easy for the daughter-in-laws to merge with the matrimonial family, as she will be familiar with her ptivileges and duties. But gradually it became a bit rigid. Its high time its removed from society and not kept artificially alive for political ends.

Caste census is a must if affirmative reservation system is still needed for benefitting those who are really poor. Ideally affirmative benefits of reservation need to reach those who are truly poor irrespective of their caste and religion. Anurag Thankur asking Rahul G caste was bit below the the belt to suggest people with no caste are ineligible to ask for caste census.

We the people of India do not want the caste system to continue- we require a merit based system with reservation for the economically backward only.Once they better themselves stop the reservation.Many rich people are enjoying the benefits- unfair!
Yeah that's why caste census is required so that you'll get to know how much percent of hold of property is there of obcs,sc,sts and also you'll get to know about their socio, economic and educational profile so that tou can say okay they've developed enough so let's remove reservation but uppercaste people are scared the reason being is first after the caste census they'll rearrange the reservation where uppercaste population ia less so that ews and also the remaining ones will be corrected according to population.

Why caste... I don't understand??? My name does not state which caste i belong... Purposely, my elders, or in my lienage, women donot carry their caste in their name... So, it a guess, to which caste i belong to who knows my name... That was the way it was from long... For long... Why suddenly now... Really shocking.... Rahul is doing it to split the communities... Congress is doing divide and rule policy omong the Hindus like what the British did... Divide between Hindus and muslims.
