    I have been watching a lot of R/C boat videos lately, and nothing has come close to this. Top job! 11 on a scale of 10. 🙂

    Hi Kristian,
    Nice upgrade!
    The extra inlet is in the wrong place though, it acts as a brake, slowing you down considerably. A spray pickup should sit in the upper right quadrant, viewed from the rear.
    Personally I doubt if the extra inlet is needed, none of my fast electrics have more than one inlet.
    Regards, Jan.

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jan Spoelstra I haven't thought about this. Thanks for posting. I don't know how much it matters though as this setup is so overpowered on 6S it just jumps out of the water!
      Regarding the number of inlets and outlets, you can never be to safe, I guess:)

  • @jetegtmeier71

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jetegtmeier71 Thanks!:) That would be a safe bet to make! But a lot of fun. Highest recorder speed on this setup is 76 km/h (47mp/h). It's really hard to get up to that speed unless the water is like glass. But with the waves, it's fun and the boat looks scale in slow-mo:)

    Hi..care to share how u got it right with the CG? Im in the middst of modifying mine but it just went in all directions. I got same esc like yours. My motor is 3400 if not mistaken. Got the fin and props change. Same size with the original but copper. Thanks

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm no expert but I'll share what worked for me: I put the "trim tabs" so they continued in a perfect line along the bottom of the hull where the transom stars. Then I placed my batteries to make CG appox 33% of the length of the boat from the back to the front.
      As I increased speed I tried to observe which way the boat was going and slightly bent the tabs and moved the batteries accordingly :)

    • @nikrizal72
      @nikrizal72 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Partykristian and everything else is standard that comes with the boat? Well sounds like it takes time and effort to get what u are having now. As for the trim tabs..u bend it upward and downward rite? If the boat turning right which way do i bend the tabs?

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello again, read some of the comments below and watch the stills in the video closely and you'll have most of your answers!:) If the boat is turning I would try trimming the rudder and shifting the battery further to the opposite side, if possible :)

    Can you please make a comparison between a 2 and 3 blade propeller?
    By the way this vid is one of my favorites! I love your close ups!

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for your kind comment.
      I don't really have a good way to make a proper comparison between various propellers.
      Going from what I know from airplanepropellers a two-blade and a three-blade that numerically has the same pitch would act as if the three-blade had some extra pitch, maybe 15%. I understand cavitation might be a bigger issue with a threeblade as the blades have a shorter distance to go before they hit the "turbulence" from the previous blade.

    • @pietlopsa9164
      @pietlopsa9164 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, that sum up everything I read in different forums. Maybe I put a 3blade on my boat, just because of the sound. The sound is just incredible!

  • @Coledebord2
    @Coledebord2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    are you using the stock flex shaft on this? (3mm or 4mm?) and what size prop are you running b/c it def doesn't look stock. also what would you estimate the top speed is on this set up?

  • @LockyGardner
    @LockyGardner 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have this boat and love it and i have upgraded the esc so i can use 4s, but that at the motors limits, could you please tell me the exact configuration you are running on this boat? Motors and all the other things that had to be changed! Awesome video on the end keep it up!

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Locky Gardner Hi, Thanks for your comments. The motor is the original motor from a TFL Genesis. The ESC is a 120A Hobbywing Seaking. I have mounted an extra cooling intake - and outlet. Also there are two trim tabs on the transom.

    • @LockyGardner
      @LockyGardner 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Partykristian thanks for replying, what about the motor mount in the boat? Is that still standard?

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you pause the video in the beginning you will see a still-photo of the motor mount.
      It's the original one, the style that just attaches to the front end of the motor.
      To take some stress off the mount I have used the metal strap that bridges the top of the motor to clamp down tight on some high-density foam so that vibrations and shocks will be somewhat dampened by something other than just the front attachment.

    How can two companies sell the same boat? They just changed the name and paint. It's the exactly same boat as the litehawk intimidator exactly!

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe there are several versions of this boat sold under different names. I know HobbyKing has one for sale, also. If one thinks about it, this happens with full-size-cars, so why not RC boats?:/

    Hi anyone any ideas please, a friend of mine has a new joysway alpha and can't get the transmitter binded to receiver please, don't know what to do

  • @trevyy240
    @trevyy240 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a scott free which has the same hull shape, and I was wondering If I can run 6s since I installed a 90 amp 6s capable esc from Hobbyking and still using the stock 1900kv 888watt motor. Or do I need a different motor?

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm no expert but my experience is that it's not voltage that fries a motor but watts. The power that a motor develops (watts) is directly proportional to how much heat develops in the coils, and that's usually where the damage occurs. In other words, the motor most likely doesn't care if it's developing 900 watts@4s or @6s. Obviously, go crazy high, like 12s and the voltage would at some point burn a winding somewhere making the current not pass any more, rendering the motor useless.
      Running the same amount of watts (power draw) at a higher voltage means your battery, esc and wires will have to pass lower amps (current) which typically is a good thing.
      I suggest that you buy one of those cheap wattmeters that you connect between the battery and the ESC. It will tell you a lot about what is going on in your motor. Also, get one of those cheap IR thermometers.
      Do some runs at half throttle and have a look at the max power and engine bell temps after the half throttle runs. This will tell you if you are overtaxing your motor. The motor should not be more than 60 degrees Celcius, maybe 70 in a pinch. At 80 your motor is likely damaged.
      PS: Higher number of cells usually means going down on eiher prop size or pitch.

    • @trevyy240
      @trevyy240 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok. The motor is 888 watts and I will do what you said. Thanks so much!

  • @PieeruzZz

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. The motor is the motor that is stock on the TFL Genesis, also sold by Hobby King, I believe.

  • @masonpatterson2911
    @masonpatterson2911 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you mind showing or giving modification information??

    • @Partykristian
      @Partykristian  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, sure:) The motor is the same one that is original in the Genesis:
      www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__11240__Genesis_Offshore_Brushless_RC_Twin_Hull_1045mm_.html
      It was a little difficult to mount in such a small boat but I made it work.
      The ESC is a Hobbywing Seaking 120A.
      Typically i'd run the boat on 4S but for this video I tried it on 6S. Obviuosly, that's way too much power for this thing.
      Also, the porpeller is un-original, but I can't remember the specs of it.
      The rudder is taken from a destroyed Joysway boat that exploded on me (see vido on this channel :) ).
      There is a bunch of extra cooling lines, etc, but all that's just off the shelf things that any large hobby store probably sells.
      Oh, and I mounted turn fins and trim tabs on the transom. Those are just generic off-the-shelf parts as well.

    I know you spend a long time producing this clip. Remove the annoying music, record a video that gives an over all sense of the speed of the boat and how it sound, then you have a good video. other wise this whole production sucks big time.
