CE is my favorite game of all time and I am very picky when I think people are teaching it wrong. This is my new favorite instructional video. You are entertaining and you emphasize what I consider to be important concepts that I have seem many people who explain this game leave out. Fantastic video!
Used this to help 4 completely new players (including myself) the game! Not sure if we got everything right but this was definitely a great starting point, so thank you!
Epic game of this 2 nights ago. One of my cousins had Amoeba and Masochist, and won the game on the first turn. Some say that's broken, but I say that's what makes this game amazing. It was so quick, we didn't need to reset.. he just picked new aliens and we started over from there, so it didn't bug anybody - it was hilarious!
Is this video super quiet or is it just me? Either way, it was a good descriptive telling of the game and the rules with enough humor to keep it from getting dry- great job!
yo, thanks! i don't remember where it's from (pretty old shirt), but the brand is "beautiful decay" --- i found this pretty quickly, though: en.templeofdeejays.com/tee-shirts/beautiful-decay-t-shirt---scribble---white-5208.html
If I "attack", let's say, Yellow. And yellow has 4 planets untouched, with all his 4 ships on each. And then yellow's 5th planer has none of his ships on it, but a colony of another player.... may I still attack that planet and count Yellows defence as 0 in terms of ship power? May I attack the other foreign colony and try to drive that one out aswell? (Example what I mean with the above statement, let's say I am green, and I attack Yellow. On Yellow's 5th planet, blue has a colony, can I - as green - choose to attack blue's colony on Yellow's 5th planet to try and drive him out?) Question 2: During a negotiation, can I promise my opponent a colony on another planet... that isn't mine? (Clarifying scenario: I am Green, I am in a negotiation with Blue. I have a colony on one of Yellow's planets, can I promise Blue he will get a colony on the planet owned by Yellow, that I have a colony on?
1. You may choose any planet in yellow's system; if they have no yellow ships on that planet, their defense score is 0 - in other words, exactly as you say! However, you may _only_ encounter the yellow player; unless your species or a card you played says otherwise, you don't get to choose which player you're attacking. However, yellow has the opportunity to kick other players off their home planets if they draw themselves from the destiny deck! 2. Yes, I think the rules explicitly say you can allow them to establish a colony on any planet where you already have a colony, even if it's not your home system!
Thanks for this video. It reminds me a lot of Munchkin with some of its mechanics, and I really don't like that game. You helped me save $60. On a side note, how are they charging $60 for a few plastic ships and a deck of cards?
Really! I don't see much similarity between the two, but I've only played munchkin once or twice. Dunno what to say about the price, though --- doesn't seem crazy compared to a lot of video games these days... ;)
Sounds like the saboteur? I would not play with the shadow in a two-player game --- i can definitely understand why it took so long to finish, when it can snipe out single-ship colonies. the saboteur also slows the game down, but nothing like the shadow. if you can find it in your heart to give it another try, i would recommend it! Just, uh, don't let anyone choose the shadow.

I loooove when stuff like that happens. It definitely contributes to the charm of this game. -M
A friend linked me to your video so I could learn how to play. Not only did I learn, but it made me laugh too. So thanks for making it fun. :)
Our pleasure :)
Thanks for that - I have a much older set than you (1980s) and I've lost the rules, so that's helped me reboot.
I'm not here for rules. I'm here for the cringe humor! Why is there so many thumbs down?!!!
Thank you for the great overview. I appreciate a man with a good sense of humor.
This game seems fantastic.
It’s been 4 years, had a chance to play it yet?
Very well explained. Will use this as guidance for my upcoming demo.
Thanks for this video! Heard a lot about it, but now I definitely need to get this game
It's a blast --- with the right people, and the right mindset. No two games are the same!
Thanks for the rules, much appreciated!
Great to have rules explanation in a unique fun way. Enjoyed the jokes. good job on the rules too
Great tutorial, thanks!

5:44 Nice. Also great video!
This helped a lot.
Love this! Thanks a lot.
Love this video. I want to watch another rules video just for the entertainment value.
Am I the only one who doesnt remove destiny cards and just skips over them if they arent players? Im just too lazy to take them out lol :)
Can the active players deny help?
Yes, allies can only join in if they're invited (subject to alien powers)
DUDE what is this transformer toy in background ? i had a similar one in childhood
i thought my headphones were broke at the beginning of the video
Lol. I hope you didn't turn them up too much and have your ears hurt by Haak's yell!

i'm scared of you
good, that means you're a healthy citizen of the internet
F the ticktock. F them.
The rule explanation are good.... The jokes are cringey 😬
I would follow the channel if they just did rule explanations
Who would we be without the terrible scripts???
Hate him love the explanation
i just had my first game of this. it lasted 4 hours and didnt even finish it. i now hate this game.
Oh no! What aliens were you playing as?
shadow and the one that places bombs
