The guy had to look at the totality of the circumstances..and react in a split second,,,,to use his skill set to control a powerless flying gas tank to insure against loss of life on the aircraft and on the ground...Clint Eastwood apparently had issues with the way the inquiry afterward was conducted.....and that translated into the story line...But what this guy did equates to the very dimension of the word "hero"....
Or Ellen would say something like, "John Goodman is also a very big part of the Pixar universe. Do you wanna meet John?" Tom: "What?" [Audience screams as big doors open and John Goodman walks through]
