It annoys me SO MUCH when people say "blahblahblah MYLO IS FUCKING AWEFULLLL POPPY BLABLABLA LALLALALLA". Mylo Xyloto is. NOT. POP!!! It is POP ROCK, and the ROCK side of pop rock at that, since there are a lot of POPPY rock songs out there. CLEARLY anyone who thinks Mylo is pop has NOT heard pop in a LONG while. Because Mylo is FARRR from straight pop. It's stadium rock, pop rock. NOT pop. The 2 straight pop songs on there are Princess of China and Up in Flames. That's IT. Now, in comparison to their older albums, this is the poppiest album they've done up until that point. Then GS and AHFOD came and made this look like a rock album. Which it is. It simply isn't straight pop. It is just like their older music, as genuine and heartfelt as their older music, just in a much happier sounding way. Mylo isn't all lollipops and rainbows (and I know that some of you actually do think it is lollipops and rainbows because at first glance it damn well comes across as that) but if you look deeper it's actually pretty dark. Such a neat concept album... really love the story behind it, really one of a kind. The color thrown around everywhere... you can feel it. Mylo's amazing for it's colorfulness, really amazing for everything. It's a mainstream album done right, and it still remains my favorite album to this day despite listening to 30ish other albums that actually had a shot at being better. Including some of Coldplay's own. Now, before you dismiss me as some retarded Newplayer fan who doesn't know what real music is, note that I already compared this to their older music which I do think is superior to their new music overall, obviously excluding this album. I fall within the rare category of Oldplayers who actually like Mylo Xyloto. I am fine with stadium rock, happy rock, pop rock, even pop, electropop, and EDM if it's done right. It's just the style of music that started popping up in 2013 (and there's been a lot of bad pop songs throughout the 2000's and beyond but this is where there has been a trend of these bad songs getting worse and overtaking the good songs for good) that I hate. And unfortunately Coldplay's 2 most recent albums have steered in this direction. Now, don't get me wrong, their 2 albums are still very good and are MUCH better than almost anything on the radio today, but they are starting to steer that way, and when you listen to AROBTTH for example or any of their old works, you just shake your head and say "What the fuck happened to Coldplay? Why do they make such sucky music now?" Because their older content legit makes their old content look extra mainstream, poppy and glossy, And fake. And plastic. They've simply taken a step down since not MX, but GS. Again, it's still good music, but it gets blown away when you listen to true TRUE music like what they used to make. It's just a simple matter of good vs AMAZING BLOWING AWAY WHAT'S MERELY "GOOD". There's not really any bad in here unless you're looking from the latter to the former and you really are demanding that quality of music at that point in time, not what Coldplay currently is. That's my opinion on this whole thing. Have a nice day everyone. /rant

+Abghia Thariq honestly, the only song I thought wasn't produced well was don't let it break your heart. I wish Chris' voice was more clear in it. Even then, I do love the song... wish they would release it again after doing a better job on it. But other than that, I absolutely love MX and the positive energy it brings with it.
and tommy, to me GS was a brilliant album cause it gave me the feels that parachutes did, but in a modern sound. It's easily in my top 3 coldplay albums. I do put this album on evertime i drive actually and yes i put paradise on really loud on with my girls and when we stop at trafic Lights People do stare at us.😂🤣. Truth. And the french here are so boring. Also my girl gidxa video of our loved pas away dog she put Charlie Brown song in her video for our dog. It was our dogs favorite song. Xxx
