Any chance you would know how to connect the box to the bell or that you might have a wiring diagram? I have an almost identical Gamewell box, but I do not know how to connect it to a bell. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
The "Tap Bell" is powered by an electromagnet, needs electricity to function. The box itself doesn't store or generate electricity, so when the power is out it won't ring.
Nice work, did tou restore the box yourself? I have an identical one minus the 'break glass' front...I want to try wiring mine to an old 6"school bell I found..also noticed the Emergency engine 51 firehouse in the bottom left corner
maybe you can help me out! i have a gamewell box and was wondering if the in box bell should ring with out power while going through the cycle???? or could this mean my compressor in the bell itself is bad?
Bells were in every firehouse. The bell would ring after the hook was pulled, you look up the box number. If your company was assigned to that box, you "turned out" and responded.
I have one of these and a Horni fire box with a phone , an old phone, in it. do you know anything about these? I can't seem to find them. TY The Horni has a 1939 warning metal plate
Yes, I remember these in Detroit

I live in Buffalo and this would be cool to see the former location of this bell.

I’m right down the road from Buffalo. I’m a fireman in Dunkirk. Very curious how you wired the box to the bell as I have an old box myself
