صراحة سعيد عويطة يستحق اشياء كبيرة،يكون وزير رياضة،ومسؤول ومشجع للنوادي جري،لانه من الصعب تكرار شخصية بحالو،يستحق شهرة اكتر اكتر ،كان ماشاء الله عداء يفرح،

This is one of my Top 3 favorite races of all time. An exciting sprint finish despite the punishing pace, and Said Aouita at his finest. A real race for the ages. Great stuff!!

Aouita ran the whole race on the outside of the lane 1 and had an easy 55 secs final lap. He could crush WR and 13 minutes if he needed to. Great race, as Bekele's in 2008.

Thanks for posting this footage! My favorite runner has always been John Walker, seen here running very courageously, past his prime, but still taking 8th in an event he rarely competed in. You can tell the 5/10K's that are fast-paced as there is no bunched-up, constantly-shifting pack, but instead guys just hanging on in a string for dear life.
Moorcroft once set a 5000m WR. Last European to do so.
Aouita was at his third 5000m ever that year, what do you think? He was first born great in that distance by setting 12:04 in his first run. But you belonging the Anglo-Brit world think that the world is reduced to your names.

One of the Portuguese greatest indeed. The first Portuguese athlete to win a medal at the European youth championships. His 13'07' in 82 were the 4th best world 5 km time ever up to that point. He was only 22 years old. So much potential, but unfortunately, his two major flaws were the final lap sprint, he never had that sprinting speed, and his irregularity, made short his career at the highest level.

but I think he suffered from the decision from which hardly no one was innocent.
But this race, it was very hard. I think Martti Vainio could have run about 13. 10 but not
that faster.
