Thanks for the great video. My Audi SQ5 had exactly this issue. Drove it 230 miles. Problem revealed itself on the long journey. Final half of the journey, the idling was juddering but was fine at high speed. Got to destination. Had dinner. The car started but only drove 5 metres and died. After that, it just cranked but wouldn't start. After the car was recovered, checked each glow plug and number 3 showed the same issue. Ie, injector 3 was having issues. Took injector 3 out and it was in a very bad state. Replaced injector 3 with a new one and engine started. Ran rough on test drive because the ecu didn't know about the new injector code. Ecu code added and the car runs great. Another tell tale sign is that the exhaust after the 230 miles had a lot of red coating. This must be like having an extended dpf regeneration of 200+ miles.
Fascinating watching your diagnostic process, im jealous of your fancy tools. Completely agree with the recommendation for all 6. I've had a few headaches that were because of the next weakest link failing in a system after replacing one component. Maybe the customer just wanted it running so they could sell it? Lol
As always love the logical diagnostic flow. Will a regeneration clear a DPF that could be “full of diesel”? Would you attempt to drive any of that out of the exhaust system first… Italian time-up style?
Thanks Jeffrey! No I still use the Ditex but just depends where. If I have the pico out and I'm going to use it anyway, I'll just do it with the high amp clamp. The Ditex is really great because of how portable it is though
Another awesome diag Rob. I cant believe the warranty repair. Can understand wanting to spend as little as possible but why would the manufacturer risk it coming back to have the same job on another cylinder and pay more labour costs? Oh well I guess you'll see it again at some stage with a new owner 🤣🤣
It's a great feeling when you diagnose it correctly and prove it by data as well as the results.
Well done mate! 😁👍
Thanks again MAX! Satisfying!!
well done Rob. Very clever approach of the problem, Master tech.👏
Thank you Lambros. Definitely not a master tech. Learning everyday!

Excellent, thanks for commenting on the video in case this helps anyone that reads it also.
Another awesome diagnostics
Thank you Awudu!!

Thanks Garrett! Well funny you say that, because I advised them to sell it after haha
Nice work great diagnosis 👍👍
Thank you Kevin!!

Thanks Kevin and hard to say how much was even in there but it got a regen anyway, plus the italian tune up ;)
Nice diag and repair. It sucks waiting forever for parts
Thank you!! Yes absolutely the worst, just constantly pushing cars in and out of the shop :(
Awesome video buddy. I agree changing out all the injector and pipes it's a matter of time before anyone will shit its self.
Thank you again.
Cheers Tony, thank you!
Freaking 2 months for parts. So frustrating getting stuff done at the moment. I hope it doesn’t die again.
Ridiculous hey Jeremy! I just complained again today. No wheel speed sensors available at all in Aus for a 2018 ZB Commodore :/
Ripper diag. The fuel line blanking caps would be a good addition to any shop.
Bloody legend, shame they don't make them for Jeeps ;)
Great job 👍
Thanks again Shaun!
Good stuff do you still use the ditex relative compression tester or have you moved away from that to pico?
Thanks Jeffrey! No I still use the Ditex but just depends where. If I have the pico out and I'm going to use it anyway, I'll just do it with the high amp clamp. The Ditex is really great because of how portable it is though
Great job

Thanks Kirk, yes exactly. But we know that most of these warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on!!
So, a leaky Injector with cylinder washing could obviously cause R/C lower compression? If so, will this be applicable to GDI too?
Hello...what size are the fuel rail and injector block off caps? Can they be purchased from a hydraulic shop? Thanks!
How many ks it done ??
299000ks I'd do the same . Those engine bearings will be clean
$700ea injector 💀
