New subscriber here! So glad I found your channel. This will be my first year homeschooling my twins, they are second graders and I am trying to stay calm lol. Doing as much research as I can so I don't feel too overwhelmed. I appreciate seeing your curriculum choices because that seems to be the most overwhelming, choosing the best one. I was leaning on Time4Learning because that's all I kept seeing. My state (maryland) also requires me to do a portfolio review and seeing your video on the school nest notebook just saved me so much stress lol. (Yes I've been binge watching your videos) Love the info. Thank you so much
Congratulations!!! I’m glad these videos have been helpful for you! It can be VERY overwhelming at times. Hang in there 🙌🏽 Thank you for being here ❤️ Have an amazing school year!
We recently switched my youngest to Logic of English. We had been using All About Reading. We are liking it so far. I’ve been able to find several levels for low cost on Facebook.
That’s awesome! LOE is so popular every time I saw D it already had so many ppl in line to purchase it. After about 3 weeks of stalking the Facebook group I gave up and just purchased it new. My timing was always off. 😩 But I don’t regret it. It will resell easily.
Sorry about that. Here it is. She has lots of things you can also get in a bundle. www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Map-Skills-Worksheets-Book-Lapbook-Reading-a-Map-Cardinal-Directions-Compass-2159724
We are on our second round of Logic of English! Don’t forget the literature books that go along with it! Many parents miss that because it’s not included in the D pack. We bought ours from Thriftbooks
Yes, I did forget to mention those but I have them all saved in my LOE library check out list. A few of them, like Frog and Toad, we already own. 🙌🏽 She has been waiting all year to read those. 😂
Absolutely! Here is the FULL bundle but you can just purchase the parts you’re interested in. www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Social-Studies-Bundle-Map-Skills-Continents-Oceans-Citizenship-Then-Now-7221794
We have used Math With Confidence for K and 1, and are going to use 2 next year as well. We supplement with Critical Thinking Co.’s Math Reasoning because my son loves it.
We kept trying to put down LOE, but it just works... Even through the moans and groans lol. There are times when I wanna give up, but then my boys read something randomly and it's so exciting! My soon to be 1st grader will be doing B and my struggling 2nd grader will be finishing up a few lessons of B (hopefully over summer) and then he'll go into C. I heard that C was more of a challenging year for some. Was that the case for your daughter?
That’s exactly it. It just works. I will say C has been more of a challenge but it’s gradual. The lessons get longer and there’s more reading from the LOE chapter books. It definitely takes more than one day to complete a lesson.
For math, do you do 1 of each curriculum every day? We have a core math and stretch math but I’m not sure how to structure the schedule at their young age. 😊
As of now, I don’t have an exact schedule. I’m taking this time to look through it all to see the flow and go from there. I’ll definitely share how I’m going to do it once I get it together. 😀
I don't know if I've ever commented but I love your homeschool videos!! Thank you so much for sharing! Excited to see all your curriculum choices.
Thank you so much!! ❤️

This looks like such a great selection! And we're doing the same science curriculum this year. 😁
So cool!
