Gina K Designs & Unity Stamp Co - Emboss Resist Two Ways

This is a how-to cardmaking video on two different ways to do the emboss resist technique. The first way is to use Gina K. Designs ink pads and a sponge for a clean, crisp look. The second way is by using Zig Clean Color markers or any watercolor medium to achieve a boho shabby chic look.
Measurements:
White card base- 4 1/4" X 11", scored at 5 1/2" and folded in half
Colored layer- 3 7/8" X 5 1/8"
White embossed layer- 3 3/4" X 5"
Small white focal image layer- 2 1/4" X 4"
Colored focal image layer- 2 3/8" X 4 1/8"
Supplies:
Stamp Sets- Only You and Peace, Courage & Memories
Ink colors- Powder Blue, Passionate Pink, Dark Chocolate, Black Onxy (All GKD)
Card stock- Powder Blue, Passionate Pink, Dark Chocolate, White, Tim Holtz Watercolor card stock, foam squares, ribbon, baker's twine, Zig Clean Color markers, sponge daubers, spray bottle, white fine detail embossing powder, embossing magic pad, adhesive, scissors

When embossing on watercolor paper, or any cardstock for that matter, I always use either my MISTI or my WRMK Precision Stamp Press so that, without worrying, I can repeatedly stamp with VersaMark until I get the image just as full as I want it. Works like a charm! Gina, I'm sure you do that sometimes, too. Just sharing in case someone in TH-cam Land had not thought of using a stamp press.

For warped plates try hot running water & the center of a double sided sink. Press on the warped side until it straightens out.

You can use the other side of the watercolor paper for stamping as it is much smoother

If your embossing plates are warped flip them over and run them through the machine. You can also run them through without card stock. Just make sure there is enough pressure to go through the machine. I label all my plates A and B and at least one with DO NOT CUT. This way I can see which side I used last and I always have a nice flat plate primarily for embossing. Just my two cents worth.

Good luck finding B plates! I had to contact the company and they told me they are discontinuing the Cuttlebug. So the B plates are scarce. Have to resort to AliExpress to find some that will fit.

What color is the scrap paper you so often use under your work? It looks like it would work as a really pretty neutral for so many colors and patterns. It looks gray green in my screen.
