Should have been higher on the list. Ray Lewis was a nightmare to an offense. Aware and focused. He could read an offense and really make them pay. I always felt like Ray played every game like it was the biggest game of his life.

Such intensity, just a passion for the game. There are few that can get on the field for as long as he did and have every team game plan to limit his impact in any way possible, and he STILL put up the numbers. I can’t stand the Ravens but damned if I didn’t enjoy watching them when he played. Truly one of the greats. Butkus, Taylor, Lambert..I think he deserves to be placed right there with them.

ray lewis is my favorite defensive player ever, I think its because he's not just a great athlete he has the biggest heart for this game and he's such a great leader. Players / people in general this great just don't come around often

Ray Lewis is easily the best LB of the 21st century, a Mount Rushmore LB, and I honestly don't think any LB will reach his kind of prestige because of the way the NFL is softening the game of the football. In summary, I believe the NFL is going to make it harder for LBs to be in the same conversation as Lewis, Taylor, Butkus, or Lambert because they can't hit like them anymore.

Every time you needed a miracle, ray made it happen. His loyalty to baltimore means the world to us fans who know how much the nfl and nfl community turns its back on baltimore. The reason they play so hard since he left is because they grew up idolizing and believing in rays example. He’s the only guy to match his men to battle in Gillette and dominate twice. Could’ve been 3 if not for the dropped td. Ray is the single greatest MLB and a top 5 FOOTBALL player all time. Only Brady, Montana, Taylor, And reggie white sit above him in my playbook in terms of impact on a football game. I miss watching him play football. Few things were more graceful in my time being a lifelong raven fan.
I wish I had the size to continue playing linebacker and following in Rays footsteps but nowadays colleges look mainly for 6’2 230 body types. It was definitely fun punishing the middle up till high school tho❗️

As an Eagles Fan I admired Ray Lewis for his keen leadership just like Brian Dawkins. And I had to wipe away tears when he announced his retirement.
I feel like a lot of people forget how good he was in his prime years (1998-2006) he could blitz, cover, fly to a running back, and put a lineman on his ass. In 2003 he had 6 interceptions and 160 tackles, just ridiculous numbers.
This dude should be higher on the list. He is arguably the greatest middle linebacker in NFL History and definitely one of it's greatest leaders. M

I didn't get to watch prime LT. I've seen some highlight compilations and they are unreal. But I have a hard time believing anyone could play linebacker as well as Ray. I'm a biased homer and I got mad respect for JJ Watt and Aaron Donald but Ray Lewis is the best defensive player I've ever seen
When Ray Lewis was at his best he could steal the heart from opponents. Definitely a top 100 player and definitely deserving of any slot on this list.

Favorite MLB ever
You had two ravens on this list for top 100 players all time from this defense in the 2000’s and 2010’s. I think that shows how good Big Ben was beating this team in the playoffs to reach those super bowls and beating them in the regular seasons to have good records to make the playoffs and win the division.
First football jersey I ever got was with his name on it. Will knock you into the next century.

Paper Panzers and what is your point exactly? Brady marched them down the field and got them points when needed, in 07 for example he marched down the field and threw the TD pass to Moss to put them up late in the 4th. Things like the helmet catch, Asante Samuel dropping an easy game clinching interception, and the crazy Manningham catch happened in those superbowls. Neither of those losses can be attributed to poor play by Brady. It is a TEAM SPORT at the end of the day. Those SB losses to the giants do absolutely nothing to tarnish the accomplishments of the six rings.

So far as Raw Lewis as a person, he's maybe my favorite, his interviews are the best and I couldn't agree more with his perspective on the game and the rules, but it's so hard to choose. There have been such amazing characters in the league. Of course Payton is completely deserving of the award being named after him and frankly I'd rather see him than Thorpe taking up the limelight in Canton.
