Certain voices sink a hook in your soul and stop you in your tracks immediately. Saint Harison possesses one of them. And why use words to capture his stunning upper-register croon when you now have these exquisite DSCVR performances of “homies” and “why didn’t you call???”? Well, the struggle and perseverance that colors Saint's work is worth telling. The UK singer grew up in a compromised household, which ultimately led Saint and his mom to take refuge at a shelter for women and kids. This is where he first heard Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” and felt the urge to write about his experience and aim to “be the artist that a he needed growing up.” Little did the rose-haired dreamer know how quickly fans would connect with his honest brand of heartfelt pop-R&B. His “why didn’t you call???” debut somberly painted self-confidence and complete doubt as two sides of a constantly flipping coin. “There’s no way I slipped your mind,” he agonizes in a moment of wounded pride. Follow-up track “homies” added lithe guitars, catchy finger snaps, and DSCVR alum TianaMajor9 to the equation; it also provided myriad reasons for keeping someone in the friend zone. These two tracks led the way for Saint’s debut EP, ‘lost a friend,’ which is sure to gain more than a fan or two.
