What scope ring height are your rings? I have a Ruger with a 20 MOA rail on top and planning on buying this scope with the MDT rings but not sure what height either the medium or high ones. Great video keep it up man 👍🏼

Awesome timing on the video. I've had a RAZOR on back order for so long, I spent the money for it on an M4 :D So when I saw that this had a 34mm tube, I ordered on straight away - spot to guy who ordered the 34mm cantilever mount separately. Anyway, I'll probably keep this until the RAZOR gen 3 is released with the large objective lenses, then grab one of those. Keep up the great work with the videos!

Great rifle I was really excited when the strike eagle first came out until I found out they put the wrong zero stop in it I don’t understand why they would put some thing in there that cut the elevation less than half going from 110 MOA to 47 MOA is a huge disappointment I shoot ELR so I pretty much use every bit of elevation in the scopes The only vortex I have is the first Razor 5-20. It has 125 MOA of elevation and 125 MOA of windage Perfect ELR scope. All of their scopes with 34mm tube should have at least 120 minutes

Nice video ...I have a question, hopefully you or any of the guys here can help me.
I am looking for a scope for my Tikka T3 243, I am planning to upgrade the stock and make a 400 to 500 yard mid range sooting and occasionally hunt.
The idea in the future is get into a Tikka long barrel in 6.5 creedmore, I don't think I'll be shooting more than 600 yards as that is the longest range I can shoot around here.
I have an opportunity to get any of the following scopes:
    1 - Vortex Strike eagle 4-24*50
    2 - Vortex Strike eagle 3-18*44
    3 - Vortex Viper PST 4-16-50 (FFP)
    4 - Diamondback Tactical 6-24*50 (FFP)
    5- Diamondback Tactical 4-16*44 (FFP)
Those are the ones I am looking at, but as a newbies I don't know which one could be better for me. (300 to 600 yards max shooting "for now"). I am trying to decide:
    - FFP o SFP
    - What magnification should I go with

Hey therre, new viewer here. Just thought of writing in your last video because I have a question I usually ask people I like who hunt animals. I am honestly strongly against it, for the simple fact that, in escence, it boils down to taking a life and treating it as sport, enjoyment, basically a positive emotion as the result of the murder.
I have issues with the moral aspect of it, because, animal, human, whatever, you're taking enjoyment from killing a living being. As a hunter yourself, and from what I've seen of you so far, as a level-minded and approachable guy, what's your take on it? On the overall action of hunting, and on your personal experience? Do you see the act itself as something completely positive, fun, etc, or do you take into account the very heavy fact that you just took a life?
I'm really interested in this topic, I want to figure out what happens in our brain, which helps us excuse that murder, even though we rationally know we are not an animal who needs to actively kill in order to survive.
I wanna stress this, I'm not coming at you, I'm not being hateful, I just wanna open a conversation on this, because I both find it fascinating, and personally a bit distressing, but I like to hear the side of people I believe can have a civil discussion with me on this.
Anyway, thanks for your time if you read this, cheers!

    • @IMPACTSHOOTING
      @IMPACTSHOOTING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man,
Appreciate the comment. You ask some good questions, and I feel as a non hunter you are open minded and thats awesome to see. So many people have already made up their mind about a topic and then its a lost cause trying to have a good discussion. This is perhaps a topic for a complete video one day.
So my thoughts are this. It's a mixed bag of emotions when taking the life of an animal. While I never shoot something for the sake of it (that would be murder), I see it as harvesting an animal for my consumption. Wether we like it or not, buying meat from the grocery store is causing an animal somewhere to die. In the case of hunting, I know that the animal didn't spend its life in a feed lot knee deep in its own poop. Going up to the slaughter, it sees, smells and hears its fellow animals get killed.
In the case of hunting for me, I choose mature animals thats had a good life and Im doing my level best to put them to the ground instantly. In most cases, they aren't even aware of the fact that I was there or there was any form of danger. I have a fundamental problem with "hunters" shooting animals at long range, I feel they make that a sport and pose for pictures. I don't do that.
While I may express excitement while hunting, it's a different kind of excitement as that of sport shooting. I know Im providing for my family with the highest quality meat available. I hope this helps a bit, we have a hunting video coming up next. If you do watch it, I will look out for your comment there :-)
      Regards,
      Piet

@@IMPACTSHOOTING Hey there, thanks a lot for answering! And yeah, even having strong feelings against hunting, I don't see people as good or bad, those are extremes. I'm glad my comment got to you in the way I hoped it would, and I hear what you're saying. Especially the part about "buying meat is killing an animal somewhere", and in most cases, it's killing them in horrific ways, so I can understand where you come from by hunting for sustenance yourself.
It's still a topic I need to understand more, and I try not to judge right out of the bat. I can't promise I'll watch the hunting video, but maybe. Either way, love the rest of your content, I've been catching up, lol.
Thanks again for your answer, take care!

Thanks Piet, great video as always. I noticed the larger weights on the sides of the acc chassis. I trust you are testing it for mdt. It would be good if mdt can drop the price point if they have less macining on a bigger weight😁. Looking forward to see the performance of the scope and especially how the glass performs in real world situations. It will have to be a good scope as there is already specials in the States on the PST 2. Once you properly tested it I would like to know if it would be better to buy the Strike eagle or wait for the PST 2 to drop in price. The Strike eagle is also more expensive than the PST 1, how does it compare to the older version of the PST? I will be looking at purchasing a Vortex due to your channel so they should better be looking after you😉. Stay Shooting😎

I put my new strike eagle on my 308. First use yesterday was great. Took it out to 1670 yards. Hold over was 113 moa. I could see the target clearly (white with a thin x marked on it) and was able to spot shots and misses. A side by side comparison with my two Nightforce ATACR scopes - optics not a good but unbeatable for the price. I got this scope on warranty from vortex which is incredible. Very happy.

I'm going for the LSS-XL gen 2 chassis and a HOWA 24" heavy barrel in 6.5 cm. I notice you have a sweet action and bolt on your ACC... would you recommend upgrading my HOWA barrel or bolt in any way, or is it good as is from brownells for precision shooting (link below)? I'm still a bit new to upgrading bolts, barrels, and actions. Thanks!

Hey! @IMPACT SHOOTING i just got an optic from my firearms school and it has an absolutely HUGE eye relief (10-11 inches/ 24-28cm) i cant place it anywhere on my ar receiver and comfortably get a perfect view with very minimal vignette, id have to place it at the near end of my 15 inch handguard just to get good eye relief (which is a no-no) a cantilever mount would be my best bet but feel that even that will not allow me enough room . any tips would be GREATLY appreciated ! thanks!

      Nice scope.I love Vortex Scopes.
They have the Best Warranty. The Glass in their scopes made in Japan and Philippines are so much better than the ones made in China.
I wish they would not make any more in Cheap Ass China

Because of your channel videos it helped me making the decision to purchase the Vortex strike eagle. Made a world of difference in my long range shooting. Hope Vortex sees this and helps your channel even more to do more awesome videos. 👍👍👍👍 Great channel. From Johannesburg, South Africa

Just picked up this scope last week, had to come back and rewatch your video, it was one of the reason I wanted this particular model. Now I just need scope rings and ammo. Keep up the great work, thanks for the video.

Damnit. I just received my Razor Gen II on Thursday and I knew this review was coming. Lol. Should have waited. One question that no one ever seems to mention on these more affordable models is, is the entire EBR 7C Mrad reticle illuminated like it is in the Razor Gen II? The "Christmas Tree" and all or just the dot and crosshairs?

Hi Pieter, would it be possible to do a comparison review between the strike eagle and the element optics titan? Maybe Matt can get involved with a side by side comparison?

Isn't your objective too close to the barrel? At the point where the chamber ends?

So... I want to put either the Strike Eagle 5-25 or the Viper PST 5-25 on my fast twist 223... It seems that the SE has a whole bunch more features on it for the R19k, vs. the Viper's 25k... The only thing I really can see being a difference where the viper comes out on top is the glass clarity...
The question then is... Does the viper's extra 25% in price translate to 25% better glass...? The SE seems like insane value for money and I'm leaning towards it for the 223 (especially as I won't be taking that many long shots >750m).

It would be nice to see a side by side comparison of the glass quality with a camera looking through. Otherwise it's just specs talk.
