    For those who are saying that Governor should be cleaning the city , I think it's the duty of the local government to do that if not, what's the duty of the local government authorities. If they are not there to help, they should be scrapped.

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that duty of cleaning the environment should be for the local government authority. In the event of failure to carry out such responsibilities, the state authorities(commissioner for environment) can issue directives in that regard. You know anything not going on well within a state people will always want to blame the governor.

      There are road sweepers, probably the work is overwhelming to those engaged.
      Or the government can still hand refuse disposal and environmental cleaning over to a private firm. I learnt some African countries engaged Chinese companies to handle that.

    The whole 33 is part of Nkwelle-Ezinaka and Nkwelle-Ezinaka is omubala Anambra East extension to Aguleri, Anam, Umuleri and Igbariam. The major problem of Anambra is poor governance imagine people are building houses without a proper planning or government approval when flooding comes they'll start lamenting I hope Soludo can copy from Dave Umuahi of Ebonyi the master of infrastructure.

      @@YangaLife To be frankly with you Onitsha Market has a potential to be the most largest and busiest market in sub Sahara Africa but poor leadership, poor management, corruption greedy and selfishness makes Onitsha to be the most polluted city in Africa, all the taxes revenue with FG allocation money has been Chanel into politicians pockets. No proper infrastructure No maintenance No law and order everywhere looks like a jungle Tufikwa.

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Onitsha main market is still the largest market in Africa, in terms of geographical size and volume of goods.
      It's just that because of the population, Onitsha needs increased effort to be kept clean. The city needs times 2 of what Awka needs to be clean.
      Enforcement on refuse disposal is vital in keeping a city clean. One thing about governance in this part of the world is that each administration has it's own agenda. Seems like no steady function of government.

    Wow interesting, but Anambra state government supposed to tarred and dualized it completely through the major express where you end the video... because that area is very important road that connects the state economic zone...but it's a pity that Obiano wasted over 200 billions of naira, with his wife.
    That road he could have at least tarred the road for God's sake.i haven't seen anyone bad and wicked like him

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That road has been like that ever since despite the economic and social values of that road. The vehicular traffic is greater than what the road can contain, hence the constant traffic gridlock been witnessed always.
      The road should be without wasting time place under emergency list for dualization.

      The road is federal road. The previous state government pushed for the dualization of the road, but to no avail. Let’s see if Soludo can attract the Federal govt. to do the needful.

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for this information. But personally this idea of Federal road and state road is not helping the locals using the roads. Who uses these federal road the more? Still people living around. However, the statr can dualize the road by informing the Federal government for the purpose of reimbursement. HE Peter Obi did it when he reconstructed and added service lane from Onitsha Head bridge moving towards Boromeo.

  • @josh_Prolific
    @josh_Prolific ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Is there no master plans for these places, look at how everywhere look so dirty and unkept, the road is overdue to dualised which means a lot of business and houses will be off.
    There is no goverment presence in this place, this is why people have resulted in self help by degrading the surroundings to look like that .
    I hope they get the attention from the state goverment asap .

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have observed well and hit the major points. Generally, our cities are so unkempt and it is never late to work on improving their aesthetic value.
      All these mentioned are all core duties of the government. But as it's always this case, what do you think could be done to take our cities to its rightful place of a city?

    • @josh_Prolific
      @josh_Prolific ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YangaLife that means government will step on a lot of toes ,they shouldn't compromise at all,knock down every damn building that is not in the master plan whether the person is a high respected individual or not. The government must make a strict law and must enforce it ,any defaulters will face the consequences of the law. Go on mass dualisation of the road with pedestrian ways and bicycles too. Planting trees is a must by the road sides ,with this on the ground,our environment will change immediately. Anytime I go to Rwanda,I just start to cry because we must as well as citizens change our mentality towards our environment. There must be strict law and enforcement,this will automatically reduce the nonsense we do .

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some countries we thought they are backwards have gone too far in development. Am not surprised.
      Then actually, you have outlined beautiful ways to achieve a good environment. But another crucial point is how to prioritize these ideas? How to convince the governors, commissioners of environment and others to buy into this ideas and carry them out?

    • @josh_Prolific
      @josh_Prolific ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@YangaLife these guys travel all over the world and I'm sure they know how other places looks like,it's about leadership and priority. If they see it as something very important, believe me they will do it but they don't actually care. I have seen a couple of roads built already by Soludo,I don't like what I see. We don't really have the culture of aesthetics. For example..look at the club road in Awka that was just built,if you go there , you won't believe it's a new road. They should buy these road sweeper trucks, both ends of the roads are full of sand already,no signs and marking of the road . These things make the road look nice and keep it clean. The government must have the willingness to do all these things, they know what is good and bad but we Nigerians lack the capacity to lead. That's all

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here, people be in a position of power without performing up to expectations and nothing happens.
      However, you have said it all, Nigerians lack capacity to lead. But let me say this, I know if been appointed as Commissioner for environment, you will perform well. Do you think there are other major constraints you will face while carrying out your duty?

  • @franklin3104
    @franklin3104 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I noticed that you and some of the viewers in the commentary string are complaining that this road from Onitsha shown is overdue for dualization, which of course, is always better for a road with busy traffic..That said, I noticed also a disturbing sight in virtually all your videos showcasing cities in Igbo land in which a good chunk of the roadways is taken over by red sands on both sides of the roads leaving just a narrow strip I'm the middle for motorists to navigate. This is not only ugly and unsightly but dangerous to motorists, to say the least because it creates traffic bottlenecks unnecessarily. In other words, the existing roadways are not being properly maintained by the government in the first place. Which begs the question, why build more when existing ones are not being properly maintained as they should. It's not enough to fix potholes, declare mission accomplished, and move on. If the red sand occupying both sides of this particular road, for instance, is removed and keep it permanently cleaned out, the government will have recovered at least one full lane of roadway, if not more, thus helping to reduce the traffic congestion. And this goes for other cities as well. Just my thoughts. But what do I know.

    • @YangaLife
      @YangaLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your thoughts though but I bet you the sands don't disturb motorists from using any part of the road.
