    Hi and thank you for this helpful video, there is a mistake I think in 4:31 the ID you took is the product ID when you were talking about the purchase ID juste before. I'm I right ??

      Kudos to you for being so attentive! I misclicked indeed. This should be a transaction ID, which is in my case _ecommerce.purchase.actionField.id_

    Thank you! This video was very helpful in getting the tag to fire on my website. However, I am still having issues with the variables not loading. Despite adding the data layer variables in GTM it is still saying "undefined" when I run the debugger. Plus, it is not listing the return type for "value" or "transaction id" as a number but undefined too. Has anyone else had issues with this?

    Thanks for the helpful video! I have a question.
    I have several products on the site and each has a different price. I've never done this. That's probably why Google Ads is counting my conversions but not showing their value. Do I have to do this procedure for each product separately, in order for google ads to show the conversion value?

    I presume we can still use a page view trigger for purchase if using woocommerce (page url contains “order-received” correct? I understand that the event being pushed by that plug-in would also work but just making sure they would both achieve the same objective haha.

I have a question; What can i do when i have 2 items or more at purchases and i want to see the products. i mean i have multiple names - products in the data layer. What would be the correct path to put it for Variable? Thank you.

    Great Tutorial but I have a question, why we can't just use the old "TY Page" instead of the "Custom Event" ?

      Thank you, Hossam! It depends on your tracking case. In our case, data layer values are available only when a custom event fires.

    Is there a reason why it records 2 under "All conv." for each transaction? The value is true, however, it's recording 2 conversion actions for each single (1) transaction. I can't seem to find an issue when debugging.

    We are a charity that use a form for donations, is there anyway we can use the datalayer to push the value of that donation to Google Ads?

      You could do it with the help of GTM if you are using the Form Submit trigger. You would have to go to the console and inspect your data layer. There is also another way to solve this problem by writing a line of code that would get this value. With the drop-down menus (when people choose the amount to donate), there is a select element in the code. To get the selected value of a drop-down list component, you would have to go through all the option elements that are present in your list and return the one that is selected. When you manage to capture the value using any of the abovementioned methods, you can pass it to Google Ads or any other platform with via GTM.

I am insprcting the datalayer on the thank you page but I can`t find the key for order price and the whole datalayer looks very different than the one shown In the video. Can you give me some suggestions how to find the right one? Thank you in advance!

      @@tylerdoiron7668 yeah. I now removed the tag manager and only use Google analytics 4 and Google universal analytics to track conversions

      It depends on your case since you must capture the dynamic values. You should make sure that they are available when your purchase event fires.
