Yes, the "singing" is called Joik. He made his own style to do the Joik. Jon Henrik is adopted from Colombia, South America.

This is called Joik, it is used among the Sami in Sweden, Norway and Finland. If you want to hear more musicians from the Nordics, you should try Eivør th-cam.com/video/wsl-KHGe4Kk/w-d-xo.html from the Faroe Islands. It is a culture called Sami, Sapmi that covers the Artic over Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. They are Indigenous people that have herded reindeer for 15,000 years and are Shamanistic people who were/are nomadic. They continue to struggle to keep their language and lifestyle alive. My ancestors are Sami.

Great reaction! Jon Henrik's music videos is made in his own neighbourhood, in the northern part of Sweden. I recommend his official music video for "The way you make me feel" feat. Elin Oskal. Also check out his older stuff, "Jag är fri" (=I'm free. Official music video) and his amazing performance in Sweden's got talent, 2014.

If you haven't already heard his song "Daniels Joik", it's definitely well worth a listen. Haunting.

The Sami culture belongs to a cultural circle that extends throughout the circumpolar area and down to South America, as far as I know. Common cultural characteristics are among several bird dancing (the use of feathers as part of the religious practices/outfit was common in the pre-Christian Sami religion). The same with bear worship. The similarities are linked to the pre-Christian Sami shamanistic religion, which still makes its mark on the Sami culture today.
There are several great sami musicians, who combine traditional sami yoik with modern music. Since you are a metal guitarist yourself, maybe you should check out the Norwegian band Intrigue, who rocked Sami yoik into our hearts in the 90's?
They coined the term "heavyjoik" and are described as the only band in the world in their genre.
Intrigue has been considered by critics and audiences as one of the region's best live bands. In their 30-year career, they have performed at most festivals and concert stages north of the Arctic Circle. Intrigue draws full houses, and the alljoik factor is very high. In 2002/2003, Intrigue was one of the best-selling record artists in Norway, which resulted in a gold record for the CDEP «Heavyjoik». My recommendations would be:
"Aillohas" is a tribute to the Sami multi-artist Áillohaš, Nils Aslak Valkeapää th-cam.com/video/gQ0L7aJHiN4/w-d-xo.html
"Eatni Nieida" is sami for "Mothers daughter" th-cam.com/video/oYJkRsdLiJ4/w-d-xo.html

Kinda agree with what you're saying, the video takes your attention away, in a way (no pun intended). He's better experienced live, it really is tear-jerking! In this music video, it's kinda like an intro to a movie, with him "just" in the background

Best way to reach to your own natural instincts! A song from the heart without lyrics, but with a call from nature

Good Reaction...the visuals are Beautiful. As a musician I would encourage you to react to Alffy Rev of Indonesia 🇮🇩...his “EPIC Medley of Indonesia” ...or “ His One Man Band” is both inspiring as a artist or just producing unique Indonesian traditional sounds with Instrumental Vibe is definitely Awesome. As an Indigenous Native American from Northern California I could hear “some” similarities with this MV. I absolutely love ❤️ hearing various International Music 🎶🎵🎶🌎 as well. Stay Safe and Positive. 🙇🏻‍♀️❤️🔍
