CNC vise STEROIDS

Interesting idea, but I would probably make a set with talons on them to really bite the stock.

Dont want to be negative but there's a bad tolerance stack issue (in Y) with that design.

I think you’re right. I don’t know if you could do legit second ops with them unless you probed them all. But first op blanks would be money and I think you could hold them fine. I’m gonna get some and try them. I have my reservations on Y also.

Maybe for secondary ops.. but for first ops? Who cares if you are cutting around all the parts. @@ericschneiter

The no go no go no go annoyed me cause he didn’t even properly use the shim to check it lol, put an indicator on it and see for real. This looks like junk another jaw gimmick, I bet there is almost
No clamping pressure on the 8 part jaws. parts gonna be flying out. But the price is pretty good though

I understand the concern. Im a skeptic, but was pretty sold when I saw it in person. You’d for sure have to use a torque wrench but for square parts, 1st op it for sure works and it’s rigid.

@@ericschneiter couldn’t tell but was there an undercut in those jaws like a dovetail? If so it would help a lot with grip. This would be okay for aluminum and copper but steel you wouldn’t get enough bite, you’d have to slow down feed and speeds and doc. I personally like to use talon jaws or gripper jaws on a multi jaw Vice but at least this is cheap

@@ericschneiter to a certain extent if you have to reduce feeds for something that holds a lot of parts it’s almost faster to hold on 2 parts at a time in a standard vice with good feed rates.

@@adammiller4879 no undercut. I could see them making undercut serrated jaws eventually but for density of 1 inch pieces of stock pretty cool concept. We will see if it takes off or not but yeah, totally agree for high feed roughing it might not be the best. I’m gonna buy some and give them a review.
