For a burly man, he was hugely athletic, because that swing is very hard to replicate. His iron play was consistently brilliant for 4/5 years. It was like he was putting for a birdie inside 20ft every hole.
Agree. Not much posture, unusual waggle lifting the club up and down, a marked overswing, but it works delivering great accuracy. Something to notice is how he maintains a relatively straight, not cupped left wrist , swinging on the same consistent plane. Difficult to copy that without cupping and crossing the line. What a player though.
One of the best drivers of the ball of all time. Not necessarily the longest, but there is more to it than bombing it. A shame he never won a major. He definitely was better than some players who won fluke majors
I always loved his swing, it looked so effortless and graceful. When I played it was always a 'grunt and thrash' when i drove off. The best drives i ever did were like his. I once drove a 374 yard par 4 ....... still 4 putted! (idiot) but the drive was a lucky thrash.... I'd have traded that for an effortless 275 yard straight drive. Daft thing is on par 3's i was ok up to 220 yards on my 4 iron. Golf is a dangerous game for egos :)
After Fred Couples, Seve, Olazabel and Ernie - it has to be one of the most natural rhythm swings of all time!

The crowd in the early 90s. A quiet “shot Monty”. Brilliant!
"LIGHT THE CANDLE!!!!!!!"

Nice relaxed swing just played his natural shot shape every time wasn’t worried about hitting bombs just get it out and down on the fairway
Swing never changed, wonderful rhythm

so... The answer is - no swing evolution ?... ;)
I guess if you get something right the first time. it'd be stupid to change it :D
