Hi. Great video. I have an old sea ray bow rider with a 115 2 stroke merc, both of them are from 1992. Im running af 23 inch pitch prop and getting 5500rpm. Im thinking about getting af 4" manual jack plate, can anyone tell me if im mad ore is it a good idea?
My power pole is super loose. Those 2 bolts that are on each side came loose on my passenger side and now my power pole is super loose and wobbley. Is there supposed to be a nut on the inside/back side of those bolts ? Do you know how tight you are supposed to tighten them or what to torque them to ? It seems that after I use my power poles a just a couple times that it always gets loose again and then makes my power pole loose It seems that from the pressure of the power pole digging into the ground it puts upward pressure on those bolts or area which makes that bolts get loose. It’s a new to me boat that I just purchased. I am not super familiar with power poles or manual jackplate a
Hello Sir need some help with this information. From center of spindle 13 3/4 from pad to ground 18 1/3. Currently running a mercury tempest plus 25 pitch with one hole plug. Top speed 49 mph and 5200rpm. Engine mercury pro xs 250 hp. What could be wrong here. Thanks in advance 😊
@@clearwaterfishing If you haven't already, check your hot foot throttle connections. If you have some help, have some push the peddle all the way down with the cowling off. You should be able to see that the throttle cable is opening the throttle all the way and bottoming out.
@clearwaterfishing dang, I get 67-69 top end at 6000-6200 rpms. What prop are you running too? I have a fury 23p. So I guess not bad for a 23p. Have yet to mess with Jack plate.
I tried doing this on my boat but everytime I crank the middle bolt to move the jackplate the bolt just starts to come undone and the jackplate does not move what is my problem?
@@clearwaterfishing I know this was a long time ago so you may have figured it out. But based off the rpm’s you’re seeing. Doesn’t seem like you’re hitting the rev limiter. May need to size down on the prop, that’ll get you more speed.
you still did not tell us where the 3 1/2 inches comes from? I just measured mine the difference is 7 1/2 inches from bottom of boat to center of prop???????????/
FYI just trying to help, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is not really a lubricant. Fact: While the “W-D” in WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is a unique, special blend of lubricants. The product's formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal. Should you use WD-40 as a lubricant? While WD-40 does have some lubricating properties, it is not a good lubricant and should not be used for this purpose. Using it on anything that needs proper lubrication (bike chains, treadmills, garage doors, etc.) will not give you the results you want. There are better spray Lubricants for your needs.......WD40 is great But as a lube I chose WD-40 Specialist Silicone Lubricant Spray or any other brand.....Good Luck nice Video.
I appreciate it. I didn’t really think about silicone spray. Would a silicone spray lub penetrate enough to make a difference? That’s why selected wd-40.
Hope this video helps a few of ya. This was my first time as well.
Outboards are heavy. Not surprised that it was in a bind.
Oh my back!

What’s that Nitro running now after you adjusted it ??
I’m a bit concerned. 66 mph at 5650 rpm. Better by about 6 mph. I am curious if I am getting full throttle.

You not filming on the water anymore boss?
I will. Just got a promotion at work and my time on the water is limited. What would you like to see?
Did you get a speed increase? I’m sure you have taken it out by now.
I got about 6 mph. I think I am missing a bit of throttle or have a bit more weight than I think.
