Madeleine McCann prime suspect blames media fire' at sexual offences trial

The convicted rapist that German police believe is responsible for the disappearance of missing Leicestershire girl Madeleine McCann says he's been the subject of an unfair media storm.
Christian Brueckner, who denies any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance, appeared in court today charged with several unrelated sexual offences in Portugal between 2000 and 2017.
He's currently serving a seven-year prison term for a rape committed in 2005 - but today his lawyer said this trial must be free from ulterior motives.
