This was a very helpful tutorial! Thanks a lot! Perfect for my use case for outsourced powdercoating. I left the MTO out. You covered one point I did not pick up from the official video which made it all work for me! I just added a product purchase description to give insructions to my powder coater.
Very valuable and interesting information. Just how to visualize the entire order process in numbers, track movements, and see the current location of the order in the form of a report? Entering the information is convenient, but retrieving it from there is not quite straightforward.
Hi Kevin. In your example, you send an unfinished product to the subcontractor and then receive a finished product with a difeerent name. I have fabrics that I send to the subcontractor to have a final treatment and I receive the fabric back. The name of my products hen sent and received are the same. How do I manage that? Otherwise I would need to duplicate my products for the unfinished and finished fabrics and would go from 2,500 to 5,000 products, and I don't want to do that.
Hi Manuel, I do understand your concern. If you are producing product A and sending it to the subcontractor, for a period of time you will have stock of product A that is unfinished and finished, and therefore it is a different product. It is a limitation but you cannot have stock of a product in two different states (one finished and one unfinished which will cause problems elsewhere when forecasting or selling to the end client).
@@KZAKI Thanks for the reply. So the only option is to have my "customer-facing" product called A, and an unfinished product call "A-Unfnished". Then I can have my BOMs use that "A-Unfinised" and send it to a subcontractor. Correct?
@@KZAKI Buuuuut..... (see my comment) ..... If my manufacturing process is multistep, where I have some steps performed by subcontractors, do I need to create a product for those steps?
yeah... having for 3 years the subcontracted module, odoo still dind't finish it so it can work correctly and taking in account when creating a PO for a subcontracted product, the quantity not to be bigger then the quantity on stock of raw materials used in the final product :(

Hello, it works great.
But Unfortunately i dont want to work with MTO. If i use reorder rules instead of MTO, it does not work 😕
